UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

Guys I got accepted into CNS for biology, entry-level!!! ACT:28 Top 1% and the crappiest essays I’ve ever written in my life. I feel really bad though bc unlike other more deserving people I submitted my UT application two minutes before December deadline, my school isn’t challenging and my class is only 69 people. But I’ve tried the best I could do with the tools I had so I’m proud of me

@whoop2022 Non ranking HS, but she is in the top 25 percent. 30 ACT 1350 SAT. NHS, Academy of Science and Engineering, Editor in chief of school NP, cheerleader, National Charity league.

On a side note isnt biology entry-level just basically biology major for a freshman? And does anyone know a group chat I could join to talk to future fellow classmates at UT

Any internationals get their decisions?

Just accepted to UGS! From competitive CA school that doesn’t rank. 1510 SAT & 4.5 weighted GPA. Good look to everyone still waiting to here back!

Just got admitted for Electrical Engineering after lurking this thread for weeks!

3.73 GPA (not top 7%), 1530 SAT, applied Oct 30th.

Since the transcript is required, as far as I know, I don’t think you are guaranteed priority. :frowning:

Got rejected, 29 ACT 1320 SAT Top 13%. Guessing it was my rank that killed me. Best of luck to all you.

Any regular applicants with decisions?

Got CAP, Psychology major, Hispanic, female, 1420 SAT, Top 9 %, took 8 AP classes, good rec letters, okay essays, lots of community service and extracurriculars. Best of luck to everyone.

My son got a decision this evening.

Applied October 30th.

Journalism major. Non-auto admit, Texas private school, 1440 SAT (770 Verbal). Not top 10% but a very competitive school that does not weight honors and AP.

AP Scholar with Distinction (had a 5 on AP Foreign Language his Freshman Year). 8 AP classes. Outstanding extra curriculars (journalism and leadership as well as extensive service). Fabulous essays (he wants to be a journalist after all) and excellent recs. No word yet on Moody Honors.

He was also admitted to SMU, TCU (both with nice scholarships), ASU as a Provost’s Scholar & Barrett Honors, and a couple of other places with scholarships.

UT was last place we heard from. Now it’s decision time! Congratulations to everyone who got in. I am sending positive energy to those still waiting.

Made CS. My friend who applied priority however, had his decision pushed back to feb 27. Do you guys think that this is a bad sign?

Accepted OOS for Red McCombs School of Business.
33 Composite ACT
1540 SAT
Weighted Numeric GPA of ~97
No Class Rank
12 AP Classes
Strong Extracurriculars (ie Ultimate Frisbee Varsity Captain, FBLA National 1st Place)

How often do appeals work for CNS?

My friend’s daughter appealed last year for CNS and got in. In state. Just outside of top 7%. Both parents went to UT.

That’s a joke. B.S. Social Justice Crap…

What sort of things did she write in her appeal form

Daughter is an auto-admit (32 ACT, top 3% of class, all APs, great leadership & ECs). However, she was not admitted into biomedical engineering (her first choice). I am confused as to why her portal says that she needs to pick another major. She selected a 2nd choice. Does this mean she wasn’t admitted to either 1st or 2nd? Or do they just ignore the 2nd choice you selected? Anyone know?

Rejected
1420 SAT, 3.6 UW GPA
strong essays
extra-circulars
good luck to everyone still waiting!

@momoftres, UT hardly ever gives anyone their second-choice major. The statement that they just ignore the second major could be true, but that’s merely speculation.
