UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

are the results still getting updated? Any internationals who have received?

@UmaSridhar I am an international Asian student. I apply for CS just before the Dec 1 deadline and got admitted on Monday(still wait for Turing Scholar but it is really hard). SAT 1510(R710 M800) three 800 SAT2 and three 5 AP(CS/Calculus/Physics) no ranking, no gpa, best school in my state

president of several academic clubs, research experiences, internship and also won several math and science awards

I wish I knew! Sons message said same. Not admitted to first choice major, but doesn’t mention the second choice. List of available majors does not include any STEM majors. Really disappointed! He’s auto admit, 1520 SAT, 4.8 GPA, NM semifinalist…

did they tell you about your CAP major?

So it is obvious that UT uses other criteria for admission. So many very qualified applicants rejected. Is it community service? Why do some with lesser credentials get in than these near perfect ACT candidates?

S applied late November, so not priority but he hit Dec 1 deadline. I guess we are waiting until April 1 now?

how do you know your CAP major

Why do I feel like I’m still not going to get a decision after today lol

DD got the February 27th push off yesterday. I’d really like to know how many of these deferrals actually end with an admission offer. My suspicion is very few. So discouraging after UT Admissions specifically tweeted that priority applicants would receive a decision by Feb 1, not a notification. I don’t know how in the world “wait to February 27” can be considered a decision. At this point, we are viewing it as a kinder rejection, but a rejection nonetheless.

@aggiemom2022 I would not view it as a rejection. If your DD really wants to go to UT, hang in there! What major did she apply to at UT? This whole process it terrible!!! I am sorry that you were deferred!

@Jnyfrtx , she applied to nursing, so we always knew it would be incredibly competitive, I just think we weren’t prepared to still not know for sure. She’s got good stats, but part of me thinks that if UT is already offering a new alternative “nursing guarantee” plan to some students, she must not be what they are looking for in either category. Her application has been complete since August, so if they wanted her, surely they would have said so by now. I don’t think it would feel so discouraging if we hadn’t been promised an answer by now. I feel like such a whiner, but we are just ready to move on.

@UmaSridhar, I’m a US citizen living in India. I had applied to UT Austin last August. Still application status says it is in review…

It’s going to be another long day of waiting. Still in review for McCombs. I wonder if they will be releasing decisions through the day or late afternoon.

Hello all! I feel like posting my stats since I have been on this page for months (and A&Ms) and it is always helpful to see other stats. Everyone used to tell me UT bases is it a lot over leadership and community service. I never believed them, because my stats are not that good. However, I got in last night with a 26 ACT & 24% of my class. I applied for RTF. My resume was 3 pages almost full of RTF related things. 2 internships with communication/news stations, RTF competitions & RTF certifications. I am also President of many clubs, treasurer of my student body for the past 4 years & cheer captain for the past 4 years.

I love how UT reviewed me holistically. I hope my case gives others hope. UT saw something in me that I didn’t even see in myself.
I wish you all the best of luck!

@aggiemom2022 Per the UT Admissions letter sent out yesterday, half of all the admissions decisions will come in the last round - so I hope that gives you some hope. But I understand your frustrations! Seems crazy to me that UT could not make a decision by now considering her app was complete in August. My DD’s app is still in review and she had everything turned in mid-September. Crazy!!

We are in the exact same situation . Nursing , no answer yet.

@whoop2022 Congratulations . The holistic review is what takes so long and I know it upsets plenty of people but it makes the school better to have a well rounded community. It is worth the extra time to ensure your resume, essays and LOR’s are the absolute best you can get them to be. Congrats again.

For her appeal she wrote a letter. Had her current senior class teachers write letters. She brought her GPA up after first semester. UT is hard core. She was denied as a third generation longhorn and had great stats all around. She is biology/pre-med there now and doing great.

Seeing people with awesome stats getting rejected really racked my nerves… I also just found out that UT Austin never responded to my email with my resume attached. Maybe they never received my resume?? I guess that would hurt my chances. This is so stressful…

@love3kids , I hope you are handling it better than me…yesterday wasn’t my finest moment ;). Prayers for us all!
