UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

@bros20000 IB salaries can be found by bank on Glassdoor and indeed.com The salaries are very high for new graduates and they typically bonus at 100 percent. so 90 k base and 90k bonus. It’s extremely intense work- you will work 100 hours a week. And yes McCombs has a large share of the Houston IB market- along with some of the New York market. Mccombs also has a large presence in big 4 consulting firms- another tough but well paying first career for many business grads.

Anyone heard from LAH this month? I would have thought that honors programs would have completed their initial review by this point.

@tb2000 are u sure it’s a 100% bonus because I heard it’s more like a 40-50% bonus for first year?

@dpjcri yes accepting into LAH about 3 weeks ago.

yeah I got my acceptance the same week priority decisions came out @dpjcri

I read it as Longhorn trying to be supportive to the kids that did t get in and letting them know they can be very happy elsewhere too.

I read it as someone attempting to belittle a university in order to void an insecurity of their child not getting in. You don’t have to put down a university (more than 5 times) to prove the point that a student can be happy elsewhere.

Anyone know how UT Biochem or the UT College of Natural Science is ranked in the nation?

@bros20000 I am not positive- industry standard is full 100 percent bonus but that is based on my understanding of New York Market. I have always heard that Houston pays the same. Maybe first year is prorated since they probably start in summer? Banking is the highest paying field that I am aware of for new grads with just a bachelors.

anyone still waiting for dean’s scholars?

are decisions coming out today?

Has anyone gotten any information/contracts on housing for university of texas?

@Bellaluna299 When I emailed the housing department at UT, they said they’d start sending out contracts in March.

What day do regular decisions come out??

March 1

March 1st is getting closer and I still haven’t gotten my decision for UTSOA. Does this mean I’ve been rejected?

I heard that to dorm in the honors quad, only one student out of the two roommates need to be in an honors program. Is this true?

MODERATOR’S NOTE: There is exactly ONE thread on CC in which affirmative action may be discussed, and it’s not this one. I deleted a lot of posts. Please do not post about it again.

Here is the link: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1843141-race-in-college-applications-faq-discussion-12.html#latest

The reason that AA discussion is restricted to this one thread is that CC is not a debate site. From the tone of the posts I had to delete, I can tell it’s a good policy.

I just want to say to all the kids on here, no matter where you go, or how you go about it, your journey is yours. There is no right or wrong way. If UT Austin is your dream school and the only way in is a year later from being cap’d, do it - do you know how fast a year goes by?? I know several students who have done it for their personal reasons. I know someone who didn’t get in to her dream school in NYC and went to TCC honors - for 2 years. Guess what, she just got accepted to her dream school in NYC and will be there for the fall of 2018. When she graduates, her diploma will be from there. Everyones adventure is different and that is what makes it exciting. But remember, its yours. Good luck to all of you…I am proud of each and every one of you simply because you are taking the next step in your life, whatever that may hold for you.
