Good Luck to everyone who applied to UVA. Are any of you on here community college students applying for transfer admission. I emailed the assistant dean a few months back and she said the average GPA they accept is between 3.4-3.5.
Ummm why do people think the decisions would be released at any other time other than Friday the 1st the website literally says come back on the first. God yall need to go study for finals.
Haha You’re Yonce Knowles! How can they penalize you!
@YonceKnowles it’s a tentative date that’s why
@gilani95 aren’t you in the Hopkins thread as well?
Any Northern Virginia Community College students on here?
Me if decisions come Friday: see I told you idiots the first means the first!
Me if they come out tomorrow: hey it wasn’t set in stone guys calm down.
@YonceKnowles the sass levels are too high
they say that the average GPA is 3.4-3.5 but If you look at previous years, everybody who got in had a gpa higher than 3.7…even then those with 3.7’s got wait listed. I guess it just depends if you’re instate or out of state.
@UvaLee and remember a lot of those people were applying to Mcintire as well!
Having a 3.93 here, applying McIntire, from Californian CC.
Best of luck everyone!
Damn McIntires with their nearly perfect gpa and stellar extracurriculars
Hey so like I’m kind of worried. I’m a computer science major applying from Brigham Young University and when I applied I got a 4.0 my first semester but they haven’t seen my second semester grades, which feature a C and a C+. What do you guys think? I was hoping my odds were pretty good, I was my hs valedictorian for class of 2014.
@eisus1021 if they haven’t seen it for all they know you have a 4.0 again, I don’t think a couple c’s will be that much of a discrepancy if anything they will ask for an explanation.
Thanks lol I’m so nervous and my exams wrapped up last week so i have absolutely nothing to do until decisions are made. How much do extra curriculars count? Last sem all I cared about was keeping my grades up and I read UVA wasn’t interested in hs activities.
@eisus1021 the longer you are in college the less they care about anything hs related, so for you being a freshman, I would still think that they will focus slightly more on your activities when you were younger. Only thing is they will compare it more to your position now, so I hope you are keeping up with at least a little volunteer work and such. But they know freshman year is hard. Stay confident.
I have a 3.828 and applied to mcintire……which was stupid since I’m planning on double majoring in political science so why did i apply to the harder school… -_- I’m going to beat myself up if i don’t get in. OOS NJ student
@Lionstransfer3 you should of emailed them and changed schools!
@plsplspls I just found out how hard it was two nights ago and emailed them asking if I could be also considered for political science if i didnt get in and they replied no they don’t defer decisions to different schools
@Lionstransfer3 yeah if you didn’t get in, but it might just be too late for the admissions process you still have a chance though!
