UVA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

I’m not sure I can answer that!
I think her freshman gpa at the semester break was 3.85. Mid year report had A’s and A-‘s. She is on a varsity sports team at a DIII school and was awarded “newcomer of the year” in her sport. She was waitlisted at UVA last year but wasn’t one of the 13(!!) who got off. She applied to CAS. She always wanted to go to UVA but has definitely dived into her current school and has had s good year. The primary reason she wants to transfer is that her school is really small and doesn’t have a major in what she wants to study. She’s a good candidate, but then again she was a very strong candidate in high school and that didn’t pan out, so who knows!

My awards link also said “award access denied”. And they’re definitely not done with decisions yet so don’t be worried if yours doesn’t say “inquiry access denied” yet— it may just mean they haven’t finished your profile yet. Mine only changed yesterday after being “no information found” for months

@limitdoesnotexist1 did you apply for aid

@vaschools yes people have gotten in without it on the last threads

@gohoos2019 Yes I applied to aid! I sent FAFSA and CSS

Does everyone right now have inquiry access denied? because it seems as if a whole bunch of people suddenly got their “no financial information found” switched to inquiry access denied two days ago.

@hopefulboy37 I think all the people that are getting the switch are posting and those that haven’t changed prob don’t wanna post. I looked on last years thread and a lot of people who got the switch posted their changes too.

Any thoughts on Transfermer saying on the recent blog comments thread that they are “quite late” in the review process? Anyone else getting nervous knowing that decisions are being finalized?

Can anyone else search for classes? I was just messing around and I can actually see what classes are open or not for next year.

People who have the switch are the ones that applied for aid. Speculating doesn’t really do anything at this point anyways because desicions will be out in less than two weeks.

@gohoos2019 My daughter has the switch and she didn’t apply for aid. I’m not saying the switch is significant -it likely means nothing-but thought it was worth clarifying for those who are tracking.

@Zalo11 I have inquiry access denied and I’m able to search for classes. It’s not official until it’s official though.

I can search for classes and I do not have inquiry access denied

however I did NOT apply for financial aid

everyone who has applied and has sis credentials can search for classes lol

Has anyone that applied for financial aid been contacted by IDOC aka the CSS verification people yet?

Are there people that get in who applied for financial aid and do not have “Inquiry access denied”?

At this point, if it’s true that people are getting “inquiry access denied” who didn’t even apply for aid. It’s probably the end of the road for me at least. I’m probably going to sign off until decisions come out because at this point I believe the writing is already on the wall.

Where do those who did not apply for fin. aid see “no financial aid found” or inquiry access denied"? I am on my son’s application portal (“MyUVA Application Portal”) and it only shows “Application Checklist” and some links to upload test scores/or withdraw from admission.

@boyandgirl You have to log into the Student Information System (SIS), it is a different website than the application portal. I’m pretty sure you can retrieve the username and password by entering your email you used for your application
