UVA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

If your SIS account gives you an “Inquiry Access Denied” message, that just means your financial aid award isn’t ready yet.

In the meantime, check your To Do List for outstanding items. #UVA23

From UVA financial aid facebook page.

I bet this is a clear indication of acceptance

From previous years have people had “Inquiry Access Denied” and not gotten in?

@gnpy123 lol there’s tons of housing always available in cville. especially just off grounds. don’t worry about that

@uvaTransferBoi yeah, I need this question answered! Last year when I applied everyone who had it got in. I never received it last year and got rejected but now I have it this year… so I wonder

I have nothing on my to-do list and have “no financial aid information available”… I know I shouldn’t be, but I’m definitely scared for the decisions to come out…

So is @l2kids the only person who has inquiry access denied without applying for financial aid? Seems odd.

Lol I wish they would just tell us. I’m going crazy over here…

My portal had “no financial aid information available” for the longest time. It changed last week to “inquiry access denied” and then they put a few things on my to do list. Luckily, I had already turned in all the materials through IDOC for another school. Everything dropped off my to do list this morning. Hopefully this means we are close to decision time lol.

@uvatransfer2019 definitely odd

was there supposed to be a way to link my UVA sis with my application? my SIS is from when I took a class there almost 3 years ago during one of the summer sessions, and there’s no trace of my application on my sis page. I don’t have a “to do list” or anything, I’m confused lol

@uvatransfer2019 I have it on mine, I did FAFSA for UVA but I clicked that I’m not applying for aid when answering the CommonApp questions

So I messaged a guy that got in last year and he said that they finalize decisions the last week before the big day. So for all of y’all who haven’t got a change in message, not all hope is lost. They’re still finishing up the apps.

@uvaTransferBoi I could be wrong, but I think since you filled out the FAFSA for UVA that would go under your financial aid stuff

I’m so confused. Why is it that only one person who HASN’T applied for financial aid has “inquiry access denied” even though no one else, even in the previous years, got that. It’s just odd…

@Rjlake33 Do you think it could be an award or something and considering it has to do with all of that stuff they have to put inquiry access denied.

OR possibly for all admitted students they HAVE to put “inquiry access denied” because although you do not have financial aid, it is still information that got updated on your profile. Like the admissions office had to have manually clicked a button on every applicant’s profile about what route they chose for financial aid whether they chose it or not and because they did this it’ll show up.

Haha I hope you understand where I went with that lol

If it’s the first inquiry access denied on a person who hasn’t applied for Aid in years, who knows at this point. We aren’t following last years pattern anymore.

@Rjlake33 I’m sure my daughter isn’t the only one who didn’t apply for aid with that “inquiry access denied” stuff in SIS. Perhaps the only one checking in on this forum, but not in existence. I took a screen shot of the info because I was surprised to see it (and thought it might disappear), but I don’t think there is a way to share screen shots in these posts. This is a small group on this forum. Fingers crossed that everyone gets great news when decisions are released!

I mean from this forum, statistically 40% (60% for instate) of us get an acceptance so I doubt that that everyone without inquiry access denied that didn’t apply for aid is getting rejected/waitlisted. @l2kids has your daughter applied for financial aid in previous years or right out of college?

She was waitlisted last year and I think she did click “yes” to financisl aid, just to see what might be awarded. However, it said “no information found” for the longest time and it clearly states 2019. There are no other years to see - nothing in drop down menu, or any sign that she existed last year. The other portal stastes that she’s a Virginian, so her in state status was verified.

For people who have “inquiry access denied” what does your aid year say?
