UVA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

what was the waitlist movement/trend last year?

@hopefulboy37 Idk where you got that from. In past years people who were waitlisted had “no financial aid information found” like @msport

Also the waitlist for transfers is a lot less luck than for first years. I think I read somewhere that a solid 40% get pulled off the waitlist if they do good in the spring.

@uvatransfer2019 The transfer waitlist is entirely dependent on transfer yield just like with first year admissions. Last year I was one of VERY few taken off the waitlist. 40% is a huge number. There’s variability and a lot of it

i have inquiry access denied for 2019 and 2020, table with two rows

@msport This has been something on my mind lately
did you find the transition to UVA difficult in regards to the coursework? I’m just curious because UVA is definitely a tough school and everyone I know who goes there says that as well
I would like to hear from a transfer student.

if the transfer blog claims that “inquiry access denied” isn’t indicative of acceptance can someone asks what it means then?? I’m just curious how they would respond, and I don’t know how to reply on the blog otherwise I would ask

Guys, I didn’t apply for financial aid and my portal state “No financial aid information found.”

@kcasssuu if you wouldn’t mind sharing, what are your stats?

Does anyone know how UVA will release decisions? Will they send email of decisions this year on April, 26th? Because on the blog of last year, they said that they do not email decisions. Also, how long will it take for them to mail the decision directly to our homes? Will they post the decision information on the new portal or still on the SIS?

@gohoooosss I would like to believe that it means something because at this point, I’m so stressed with exams that a rejection would be heartbreaking. Idk at this point, I think that if you did get inquiry access denied, it means that SFS is just getting your financial award ready.

@RTCRTCRTC Decisions will be fully on the application portal this year at around 4-5pm on April 26th
last year, they were in SIS portal and there was a whole new area that you clicked to open your decision letter. I’m not sure when the physical copy gets sent out

I just found out why people were getting emails from SFS or from the College Board’s IDOC service. It might be interesting if you want to read it

“We might need additional documents from some students, and we list some examples below. A request might come from SFS or from the College Board’s IDOC service.”

“Some students are chosen for a process called verification. It’s how the U.S. Department of Education makes sure that the information you provided on the FAFSA is correct. And SFS sometimes asks for documents to verify information from the Profile. If you are chosen for verification, we’ll let you know what you need to provide.”

From this link : https://sfs.virginia.edu/undergrad/apply/2020

I have a Household Size Form on my To-Do list now. It says “Additional information is required for us to complete your financial aid award. You must complete the Household Size Form/Verification Statement to verify the correct number of people in your household and the number enrolled in college. This form is available on your IDOC Document Management Dashboard. You will receive notification from the College Board when your access to your Dashboard is available.”

4 things are on my to do list after months of silence!!! good news??

YALL inquiry access denied!!! praise be!!! says for aid year 2020

Update: now that I have inquiry access denied, I cant help but feel like it is an indication of acceptance because why else would they be putting together a financial aid award?

@raenbougg did you apply for aid?

@vaschools yes

sweet so it’s looking like people who didn’t apply for aid don’t have it

@gohoos2019 there’s one person on here that has inquiry access denied and didn’t apply for aid. Idk what that means because this didn’t happen last year.

but also think about all of the applicants who ARENT posting on this thread who have applied for aid and don’t have “inquiry access denied”
I think that not everyone gets it and obviously the people who get it and are all excited will post the fact that they have it.

I don’t think everyone simply receives it because why would UVA put all of that time into everyone’s financial aid package for poeple they don’t admit. idk. I definitely think its a sign
