UVA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

to add on: checked the 2016 fall transfer threads, someone with only 1 year inquiry access denied had a conditional acceptance (CAS), and two people with 2 years of inquiry access denied were accepted.

What do you mean by conditional acceptance @nctcon

@raenbougg not sure, that’s just what the user wrote. nowhere else has any information on a conditional acceptance. there’s a comment on the transfer blog about an acceptance letter saying acceptance was “conditional on distinguished grades” though.

@nctcon oh okay thanks for responding. Maybe they were confused lol.

How many times are you guys going to bring up that past years “inquiry access denied” in an indicator that you are in. Like great for you guys and I understand that maybe 2 weeks ago. But now, we are roughly a week away and for those people who do not have it, it’s just crazy annoying and obnoxious. If it is an indicator great for you guys and congrats on your acceptance and thanks for rubbing it in the past weeks, if it is not an indicator then you just gave ppl crazy anxiety for no reason. Either way, just cool it, there is one week left.

Ps. Im one of those cool cats who does not have it

@transfer1212 your stats are pretty good, hopefully we all have positive outcome

It’s okay, let’s wind it back. Everyone here is a deserving candidate and regardless of what happens a week from now, everyone should be proud. I’m a McIntire applicant, didn’t get an interview and my page says No Financial Aid Information Found and I’m pretty sure I submitted the FAFSA the day they released it. Not the best feeling, but I’m not down on myself bc this decision isn’t an indicator of my worth or my ability as a student. This isn’t the admissions office first rodeo and they know what they’re doing. For those stressing, nitpicking at the past and stressing over the details, as hard as it is find something else to take your mind off that stress this week and finish this semester out strong that way your keeping doors open. If you ever saw UVA as a long shot in the past, feel courageous that you put yourself out there and took that leap. If you’re a first year and don’t get it this year, know you have two more shots and come back with a stronger mindset and application in the future. If you’re a second year and this is the last go around and it doesn’t happen, don’t look back, wherever you end up, continue to work as if you were a Cavalier and present yourself with that pride. Know that the process isn’t perfect, but that the people who get the limited number of spots are going to bust their asses just like you would’ve and that they’re just as deserving and they earned it and theres nothing wrong with that. We’re in the last week and obviously emotions and tension is going to be high but this isn’t it by any means. Let’s all just be supportive and not assume anything. UVA lost to the sixteen seed last year and this year won it all, anything can happen and nobody should count themselves out until decisions are announced. That’s just my 2¢, wishing you all the best, sorry for the long post.

@novarunner97 I agree with you 100%… I truly want the best for everyone, especially since we are all in the same boat hoping to continue our educational journies at such an amazing school. I agree that we have all been talking about the whole financial aid thing a lot, but I think this is just a natural way for us to deal with our anxiety during this whole waiting process… it’s hard not to overanalyze

Hi guys, this might help clear some of the confusion and also reassure most that the status of your current financial aid is NOT indicative of your admission decision for Fall 2019.

I am a current senior at GMU, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science this May 2019. I applied to the University of Virginia for a second Bachelor’s degree from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (the only school accepting second bachelors candidates). During my time at GMU, I actually applied to transfer to UVA twice before - both instances were for admission to the College of Arts of Sciences. I was admitted there both times but due to personal reasons, decided not to attend. My GPA was above 3.6 during both application cycles. Although GPA, test scores, and extracurriculars are important for admission, I think what truly sets you apart is your personal statement.

On another note, on my SIS portal, currently I am only able to view financial aid for 2017 and 2018. Both show “Inquiry Access Denied.” Now, I have no information for 2019 or 2020. These years are not even included as an option. I am not sure what this means, but I am not panicking. What is meant to be, will be!

Furthermore, during past application cycles when I was admitted, my financial aid package was not ready by the deposit deadline. However, I was requested to complete “To-Do” items on the SIS portal. I believe the UVA Financial Aid Office prepares financial aid packages for all students who submitted documents on time, regardless if their admission decision is known or unknown to them. So stop the madness! The speculation will drive you crazy. What is meant to be, will certainly be. We are one week away from knowing the end result.

Wishing everyone a stress-free week :-

@UVACollegeApplicant this made me feel a lot better lol, but I am curious as to why some people who claim they did not apply for aid have inquiry access denied then?
I really do hope you’re right since I have “no info found,” but I’m still confused.

@gohoooosss yeah that really boggles my mind. Why would UVa give inquery access denied if even my home school says no info found.

Thanks for making my weekend much more stress free, I was worried about having the “no Financial information found”

Was anyone else asked to submit selective service proof of registration? It was on my SIS To-do list.

Where is the SIS To-do list?

We’re less than a week away guys!! Wishing all the luck to everyone

@gnpy123 I thought decisions were rolling out May 1st?

Historically it’s been the 26th-27th

Happy easter to those who celebrate!
We are in the home stretch now, five days to go. Lets power through this week and stay positive!

Happy Easter everyone! Just five days like @raenbougg said. We don’t have too much longer till the big day let’s go!

McIntire applicants who got requested to do an interview. Are you applying in-state from VCCS, in-state from a 4 year school, our out of state?
