Has anyone done what Dean J suggested and called SFS about the finical aid status?
I really think everyone should stop calling UVA, if it is or isnât an indicator we will find out. No point in annoying them 2 days before we find out for sure.
@JSTECK22 Someone already did a few pages ago in this thread, but also Dean J wasnât suggesting people call, she was just saying how she was surprised someone hadnât done so before asking her the question.

@uvatransfer2019 I get what youâre saying! It totally does not seem right. I applied to uva last year from high school, but I did not apply for financial aid then either. I honestly I have no idea why itâs on my SIS and I donât think it means anything since itâs only 2019
@uvatransfer2019 my daughter applied to uva last year (out of high school) and was waitlisted. She did submit fafsa back then, but we didnât know to look at the inquiry access thing. She is applying to transfer and did NOT apply for aid this year. Until a few weeks ago, her fin aid thing was âno information available.â Then it switched to â2019 inquiry access denied.â So, why the switch in early April? Who knows. Is it significant? It wouldnât track with the acceptance theory as she wasnât one of the 13 to get off the waitlist. And why would that âinquiryâ info go away for all of March, then pop back out? Hard to thread all these pieces together. I guess we all just wait until decisions are out!
Well I also wanted to move in with one of my friends who is one of the roommates, but yeah not too smart tbh.
@uvafall2019oof I think itâs really inconsiderate to bug SFS about this. Even if a person does call they are not going to come out and say âYeah we only process aid for admitted applicantsâ or âYeah Inquiry Access Denied means you are accepted.â
Tbh weâve already heard a couple deans say it has nothing to do with it, but obviously it must so.
okay both transfermer and Dean J. are really trying hard to emphasize that it doesnât mean anything, fishy? But also its not that big of a deal that they would try so hard to hide it from people like whats the big deal if it did mean acceptance itâs nothing solid until decisions do come out. Iâm just gonna keep overthinking to entertain myself until decisions come out.

@l2kids I have the same exact situation. Was waitlisted out of high school, did not apply for aid either year, and now have inquiry access denied for 2019.

If your aid switched for 2019 that is really interesting. I donât know what to make of it.
Iâm not trying to imply anything! I have no idea whether my daughter will be accepted - am just reporting what I see. If there is a theory that âinquiry access denied 2019â refers to last yearâs application, she ultimately didnât get accepted b/c she never got off the waitlist. And this year SIS said âno information foundâ with no date next to it for weeks. Then it switched (but added inquiry access denied for 2019 only, not 2020). I canât speak to whether that switch is significant for her, or any others. Am just chiming in b/c this group doesnât have that many active posters and it seems that almost all who post here DID apply for aid. So to the extent that itâs helpful to have people who didnât apply for aid respond, Iâm just adding to the data, if you will. Again, hope everybody gets good news!
Just to add, I applied with GAA to SEAS and do not have inquiry access denied. I am recieving 2 associate degrees at NVCC with a 4.0 GPA. However, I am not a virginia resident and did not apply to aid. Looking at past years thread, students from SEAS got accepted without the inquiry access denied but not sure if it works the same for CAS or Mcintire.
Okay this is extremely random and 110% irrelevant, I just wanna know if Iâm crazy. Did everyone elseâs portal change from a picture to a painting? This is not me asking about indicators lol im just genuinely curious
