Its always been that way
And everyone has/can click on a blue link in SIS that says Open Enrollment Dates right
@gohoos2019 i think mine has been a painting for a while
For those who apply under GAA, should we worry about the admission for now? Because I’m so stressful although I apply under GAA, I still feel like it’s not 100%. Another reason is that UVA is the only school that I apply to. I just wanna go there, so I almost put all my stakes on UVA.
Anyone know what an acceptance or rejection would look like on the status page? just wondering so I know how to get to my posted decision. Also do they email you when an update has been posted to your page?
@RTCRTCRTC I am in the same boat. I wish UVA would contact GAA students earlier and let us know if everything is fine, since there are only like 30 of us.
@novatosoca That’s a very good question. I genuinely have no idea how they’ll approach it.
@novatosoca last year they sent an email saying a decision had been posted in your SIS acct.
I may be interested if I get in
@gohoos2019 I can click on it but it says I am not authorized
@novatosoca @RTCRTCRTC I feel like UVA should have notified us the moment we submitted our applications that we were under the GAA… I mean just to say that our applications will be put into the pool of everyone elses… idk but then again that still is kind of revealing our decision and it seems like they are big on not doing that lolllllllllll
this is super random but just a thought. could the 2019 and 2020 years for financial aid be for each semester? Bc fall semester will be in 2019 and spring semester is in 2020? Once again I don’t know how financial aid works at all so I’m sorry if this sounds stupid it was just an idea I had
@uvaapplic42 @gnpy123 Totally agree! VT contact GAA applicants a week earlier. To be honest, sometimes I just feel like UVA doesn’t care about transfer students that much. They seldom send emails for updated information. They don’t contact GAA applicants in advance. If I don’t know this thread, I won’t even know that the old SIS is linked with our new portal and there are information about financial aid. Also, they don’t send emails about the notification date, just mention on the blog. Many of other top universities will notify applicant a week earlier. But for us, all we guys can do is just to guess. That’s just…
Tbh I don’t think they really care about transfers either. I went to a transfer session last year and the transfer dean was wonderful. However, they had one of the individuals actually in charge of admissions talk and she was very rude. She almost out rightly said that transfer students were under class men, ranked under freshman.
@goodreads yeah do you also have the link to order your official transcript and the EForms section about leaving the university? I can’t remember if these things have been here the whole time or not.
@gohoos2019 yes, I do. I am not sure about if they have always been there
@gohoos2019 they have been there the whole time
One thing I’ve encountered multiple times that drives me crazy is that a lot of non-transfer-students think that the UVA GAA is just a GPA requirement. People will say stuff like “Anyone can transfer to UVA, they just have to get a 3.4” which, as we all know, isn’t true at all!! It really contributes to the idea that transfer students are inferior
Transfer students are often community college transfers, like myself. Anyone who has issues with community college students need to check their privilege.
To give perspective, I fell under both the didn’t apply for aid and applied for aid categories. I didn’t submit any documents until very very recently (last week), and up until last week, I had No Financial Information Found. I submitted my FAFSA last Tuesday, and on Thursday, my SIS read Inquiry Access Denied for just 2019. I submitted my CSS profile on Saturday, and then on Monday, my SIS read Inquiry Access Denied for 2019 and 2020. What you take of this may be up for discussion…
