@sophia1997 last year when I got rejected my initial reaction was to cry- and I did for hours. But you just have to remind yourself that there is always next year to try and to never give up. Especially there is an opportunity to transfer to CC and go under the GAA if you are that dedicated to getting into UVA.
@sophia1997 i was also rejected last year (even though truthfully I should’ve been realistic with myself and not had my hopes so high.) The rejection still stung and I cried a lot for sure but I took it and turned it into motivation for this year and to do super well on my finals etc etc.
You could also frame it as it’s just not meant to be
@gohoos2019 @gnpy123 I was also waitlisted and then rejected last year. This year I do not have the inquiry access denied but just the no info found. It is good to get up and try again, but honestly it gets tiring sometimes to keep trying and hoping for the future… ah well.
@Dre51298 very true
Positive motivation to everyone here to never give up on something you truly believe is meant for you You got this
yeah I get the tiring part. I applied to a school out of high school and got waitlisted, applied last year for transfer and was denied and then I wasn’t going to apply this year but decided to and I got in.
I’m at a CC and I’m not done with my associates yet so if I don’t get in I will behind academically, but I’ll be okay. Sad but okay. I probably won’t end up going to UVA if I was rejected because I would want to be accepted somewhere for next spring, and UVA spring semesters are even more competitive than the fall.
And like you guys are saying…applying to college is exhausting.
I’m in the same place. I’m at a CC on track but if I wait to apply to uva again I’d be behind. So if I don’t get into uva I don’t think I’m gonna give up it’s just that I can’t waste time and get behind and will prob just go to mason:/
Just finished my third round of exams and now all I’m waiting on is decisions. I’m so nervous, but at least when I go into finals next week, I’ll have a clear mind!

dread it run from it destiny arrives all the same
Applied to CAS as an in-state second-year transfer. Anyone know if the decision will be on SIS or the portal? And 4:30 or 5 PM?
Also interested in hearing why those of you in 4-year universities (like myself) are trying to tranfer to UVA. I personally don’t think the school I’m at was the correct choice for me (Pitt), especially in terms of environment and culture. I like the idea of a campus-central school and also know many people there. I’m also engineering so I think UVA is better suited than my current school (Pitt).
I came to tech thinking I was going to major in MechE but decided to change to CS end of last semester. UVA’s BA is a lot more flexible and will let me double major and minor and graduate a year early. At VT I can barely add a minor and still be able to graduate early.
Also, the decisions will be on the portal
@tsmonae I am also engineering. Good luck
@gnpy123 What about those people who never applied for financial aid and still had the “inquiry access denied” ?
@sophia1997 honestly my best advice is to go out for a run, go workout, push yourself physically, it releases emotions related to anger and disappointment and will bring you a feeling of motivation for future endeavors.
Is anyone else watching Endgame tonight?
