I’d also like to point out that we didn’t all take the same classes. Those with lower GPAs may have had some very difficult courses on their transcript. We can’t assume someone didn’t work hard just because they don’t have a 4.0

- 3.95 GPA, 4 year college in-state, finance major
- a lot of extracurriculars
- recommendation from mcintire professor
- not much internship experience though so don’t fret
- I did put a ton of effort in my essays, talked about a finance competition I did, was told it was very well written

Rejected, to be fair I had already sold my soul to help UVA win the Natty Title, so I couldn’t sell it again to get in to McIntire. Kind of ungrateful of UVA if you ask me, but to everyone who got in CONGRATULATIONS!!! Everyone here was extremely qualified and I probably could’ve guessed I wasn’t getting in back in March, but to be able to be a part of this class means a lot. If you’re on the waitlist, make sure to kill it during finals, know that just making the waitlist is insane, especially with those candidates aforementioned who got in. Seriously, go back and look at these stats. UVA 2021 and 2022 are getting a helluva transfer class. For those who didn’t get in, it’s far from the end. No matter what there will always be opportunities and you shouldn’t keep your head down. Fall down six times, get up seven. That being said, I’ll see those who got in on the first day of classes 
because as a wise person in this thread said “fake it until you make it”

I don’t think GPA is that much of a huge factor. I have a 3.7 in one of “ the most selective” LACs. It’s just a fair grade for them I think. My rugby, investment club, and sorority definitely helped me a lot. I also didn’t show much commitment to UVA, so luck also helped me a lot.

@muogji90 You check financial aid on the SIS portal instead of the applicant portal. Financial aid packages won’t be out until next week though.

Hi guys, I was also waitlisted. I was wondering if anyone knows how to find out which major they were waitlisted for. I applied for BACS and my second choice was ECON yet I cannot find anything that would indicate which one I was waitlisted for or if it was even for both. Also I understand the prereq for BACS is the intro to python course and to be signed up for the java course. I was also told that 100% of qualified candidates for the BACS major are accepted. I ended up taking the intro to python course my second semester, do you guys think this would have disqualified me from being considered a qualified applicant despite a high first semester GPA? My school did not have an official midterm transcript for me to turn in and several of my teachers did not even post my midterm grade, so I did not send it in. Do you think I will get off after I show them I completed CS1110 equivalent with an A in my second semester also I go to GMU
BTW my stats were a 3.6 GPA first semester (15 creds), 15 of 29 AP creds that would be accepted by UVA, 1370 SAT, and I’m on course to get a 3.8 this semester (17 creds). Also trying to transfer in as a Sophomore.

Daughter accepted! CAS, no major as she’s a freshman at her LAC now. She’s the one who had “inquiry access denied 2019” but didn’t apply for aid. She was WL as a high school applicant last year. At the beginning of this cycle it read “no info found” for a long time. I don’t think it is significant re: admissions, in the end. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
