UVA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

Also, does anyone find it strange that the Transfer Blog has hardly been updated this year?

Does anyone’s SIS have the View Decision link available yet?

@uvafall2019oof what do you mean by the view decision link??? I can’t seem to find mine

Yeah i can’t seem to find it either. Also my tab says ā€œNo financial aid information foundā€. So I guess I’ve been rejected.

@SKYDMZ do you have inquiry access denied?

I guarantee there is no way they have finished making decisions this early haha. Give it some time @JSTECK22

My page also says ā€œNo financial aid info foundā€ and I don’t see a view decision link. I also did not apply for financial aid.

@JSTECK22 not really, I am an international student at NVCC applying with guaranteed admissions but just says ā€œno financial aid information foundā€. I didn’t apply for financial aid so I think it shouldn’t show. I have 81 credits(including spring) and have a 4.0 gpa graduating with an associates degree this semester applying for engineering school computer science major

Well if @SKYDMZ is guaranteed admission and it says ā€œno financial aid information foundā€ then I guess that debunks that theory, at least for now. I also haven’t applied for financial aid yet, but will before the April 1 deadline

If anyone has ā€œno financial aid information foundā€ who has applied for financial aid, let us know. It seems that the only people with ā€œno financial aid information foundā€ haven’t applied for financial aid. Perhaps those who see ā€œinquiry access deniedā€ have been accepted and admissions just haven’t gotten to the rest of our decisions yet. But honestly, who knows at this point

If we applied last year, would our SIS account be the same? I didn’t receive any emails about making a new SIS account. The only email I received was the one to make an account for the application status page. I am super confused

@busybee1234 I applied for the spring transfer and got rejected. I thought they would give a new log in but I didn’t receive any emails, you have to find your previous emails and log in with that information

@SKYDMZ I think I have my account, so I guess I must have not gotten in… I applied for financial aid yet there’s nothing on the to do list, there is no view decision tab, and it says ā€œno financial information foundā€.

@busybee1234 I first was confused too but found the email containing the UVA SIS computing ID, and portal information. I think you have to check ASAP because it shows what you need to send. Apparently I had to send my transcripts (thought I had to if and whenI get accepted). I am pretty sure that the financial aid thing doesn’t mean much at the moment, I guess it could mean something in mid April but I wouldn’t worry about it

@Busybee123 It’s still really early. I personally think that those who have ā€œinquiry access deniedā€ have been already accepted. But because its early in the process they haven’t gotten to everyone and people who will be accepted just haven’t been read by the admissions committee yet. Thusly, people are still stuck with ā€œno financial aid information foundā€. At least I hope so.

@SKYDMZ I’ve sent my HS and first semester transcripts, and I think besides the application that’s all i’ve done so far. Is there anything else?

There is no way anyone could be expected to know this but it seems that if you’ve applied previously, you still have a SIS account in the university’s view. You can contact them to get your old computing ID if you don’t have it (and why would you?) then go through the steps to reset your password. I’m unclear which portal will ultimately post decisions. One would think it would be the new ā€œapplication portal,ā€ but maybe not. Very confusing!

Im an in state applicant from VT with a GPA of 3.84 applying to CAS. I got rejected from HS (4.39 GPA, top 10% of HS class, two sport varsity athlete team captain, drum major for marching band, STEM magnet school, 1470 SAT and 34 ACT, independent researcher), but UVA’s always been a dream. I’m not really sure how the transfer odds are, so honestly I have no idea how competitive of an applicant I am. I’ve been involved as the Hall Council President and such, but not too much more since I’ve gotten here… so I guess we have to see. Would anyone mind chancing me? Itd be really appreciated

@l2kids agreed. This whole two portal thing has me all types of confused.

@busybee1234 yep only the highschool transcript and the college transcript required. I think you have a really good chance. You are instate and have a solid gpa and sat and good extra curriculars. Which major are you?

@l2kids They release decisions through the ā€œnewā€ application portal. I honestly don’t know why they give out SIS but I think it is because of the students who applied for financial aid( they can check through SIS).
