@SKYDMZ biology. Im not sure if it’s a competitive major or not (clearly im not the most knowledgeable in terms of college admissions, especially for transfers). I also have the GTO to Cornell if this UVA thing doesn’t work out, but like i said, UVA’s been my dream school since i was literally a toddler
@busybee1234 I don’t think biology is a competitive major especially for UVA. I also applied to Cornell COE CS but the acceptance rate is like 3% lol…… you must have applied to CALS at Cornell. My first choice is also UVA too I got accepted to VT but I think I will go to UVA if I get in
I’m honestly not sure if it’s worth the effort to be reading so much into this when decisions are most likely a literal month away. We’ll be fine til then.
I applied for financial aid and have only seen “No financial aid information found.” However, I did just submit the CSS profile yesterday, so perhaps that has something to do with it.
I haven’t heard anything on this yet, but how hard is it for OOS students to transfer into UVA. I’m transferring from Clemson SC btw so I don’t know if geography affects anything
@SKYDMZ Yup i applied out of HS as a bio major in CALS… wasn’t planning on using it
What is needed if you applied for financial aid?
you need to submit your FAFSA and CSS profile for 19-20. It’s all due the first of April. I haven’t sent in my CSS yet
Would it be possible to change my financial aid request? I originally said I was going to apply but there really is no reason. Should I just not turn it in or should I notify the admissions office
New day, new question: how did you all submit your college mid term grades, if you did? My daughter took a screen shot and then used the “upload materials” on the application portal. Is this correct? She sent an email to admissions stating that she had done so and asking if there were another method they preferred but she heard nothing back. Also, on the application portal it does now say that her residency status is “Virginian,” so they did look through those materials even though she didn’t get an email this time. Thanks!
I am!
Along the same lines as was just asked, I used the general document update to upload my midterm grades. However, it is frustrating because I have a C in one class which is much higher as of now. I’m not sure if this will play a huge role in admission because only 20% of the class grade was submitted at the time of midterm grades being released. I wish there was some way to explain why I have such a poor grade in that class.
What is CCS? I have submitted my Fasfa to UVA.
@JSTECK22, I applied for financial aid and I am seeing “no financial aid information found.”
Hi, could anyone chance me?
I am an in-state transfer from CNU, applying to CAS (hopeful for business) as a second year at UVA.
High School GPA: 4.1 weighted
First Semester college: 3.6
Midterm Second Semester: 3.74
SAT/ACT: not the best so I did not include it
Extracurriculars:
HS- VP of Orchestra, quartet volunteer club, 3 jobs working with kids, chess club, Varsity Field Hockey, National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society
College- President’s Leadership scholar program, American Red Cross Volunteer, founding member and Business Manager of Cinema club, Music Director of my a cappella group, job as Athletic Event Staff
Honors: 4-year high school academic letter, Orchestra scholarship, Deans list in college.
One good recommendation, decent essays
(side note: I submitted my midterm grades via mail from my registar’s office, to the express/overnight address provided for the financial aid office. I haven’t seen this updated on my portal, does anyone know if they upload it or will ever give confirmation of receiving it?)
I have applied for financial aid however it still says “no financial aid information found” - hoping it is still too early.
I realize my GPA for first semester is a little on the lower side compared to others, in addition I am missing 2-3 of the prerequisite classes for transferring however that is because I haven’t had the ability to take a lot of classes yet as I am only in my first year. I am wondering if I have a decent shot?
I’ve never heard of a CSS before. What is that?
CSS is the College Board Profile. If you just submit the FAFSA you will only be considered for federal loans and grants. If you submit the CSS then you will be considered for all need-based aid.
Has anyone else got inquiry denied?
Should midterm reports be uploaded through the file uploader in the MyUVA Application Portal?
That’s what my daughter did.
