Thank you for sharing this! Reflects what I’m seeing out of the twin cities. Seems like a harder admit every year. Spend some time with that Why UW Madison if you are interested. It’s not your safety if you are OOS.

In January of 2023 I was deferred from being UW-Madison as an OOS from IL. Within the portal where you see your deferred decision, there is a place to update your semester 1 senior grades and additional awards (which you should do!). Along with this, I also wrote the admissions committee a letter of continued interest, although i don’t know how much that helped. I was then accepted during regular decision in March. Good luck!

@mp04 Thank you so much for sharing this!

Well, now that we’ve got a semester under our belts, how 'bout a little humor break? My co-worker with a Badger just started this instagram page and he would LOVE to see some of the eye-rolly texts you may have received from your Badger… LOL  Texts From College Kids

Can I ask where you found the MN Compact acceptance rate? (We’re a MN family, and I’ve had a devil of a time finding this number. When I called Madision, they said they could not tell me.) Would just love to know the source, thanks so much for posting this!

You can find that data here … MN admissions was 39% last year.

Varies by where you are applying from in MN and what program you are applying to as well.
