For the kids that got in last week… do they have until 12am by tomorrow to respond? Or is it all day? I’m trying to figure out the amount of spots that would come out tomorrow…
I’ve been checking other waitlist forums for schools my kid didn’t even apply to. Bc I’m nosey and curious. And yes apparently a bit insane.
I believe that have until 11:59 pm tomorrow night to decide
if that’s the case, i wouldn’t be surprised if the next batch doesn’t come out till next Friday then
I feel like we’re twins I’ve been doing the same!
Or maybe this Monday? Or is that a stretch…
Nah, they’ll want to enjoy their Memorial Day (as they should), then get down to figure out the spots available starting Tuesday…
I know trying to draw parallels based on last year’s movement vs. this year’s crazy delays, is like shooting in the dark, but there wasn’t a real big pre-5/15 release this year, like there was pre-5/1 last year, and to me, I didn’t feel like last Friday was a LARGE release like May 5-6, 2023, so I’m holding out hope for tomorrow. Plus it is a time crunch with things pushed back due to FAFSA. I’m sure they have data on who commits off of the waitlist days 1-5 after the offer, vs. days 6-7, so I wouldn’t expect them to have to wait and not make any offers, but it may impact whether it’s a small or large batch. Again, I know nothing, just impatiently waiting to hear something, anything, so my son can make a final decision…
Last year the first batch came out on Thursday April 27th and they had to reply by May 4th at midnight. The next day May 5th was the biggest batch they released. I’m still holding out hope for tomorrow because they are already so behind because of FAFSA.
This is really helpful, thank you. Very interesting that the first batch historically has been small, and hope that’s true for this year as well. Gives us all hope for the next batch (hopefully tomorrow)! I agree, we want to put this behind us and move on–especially before June 1st.
I hope they release more spots to different majors tomorrow! Last week was mainly engineering and CS… so I hope they have room available in the other departments as well
I still hope they have more room in CS I really wanna go here and they really tryna frustrate the heck outta us CS kids like this
Considering the fact they released out some spots last week is a good sign… means they have room available and I am sure not everyone accepted a spot in CS that were offered one. Gives me hope for you!
Just paid yet another chunk of non-refundable $$ to the second-choice school. I’m certain that means more acceptances will come out tomorrow. You’re welcome!
Do we know if last year the batches were exclusive to specific schools (e.g., the first batch was engineering/cs, the second batch was CLS, third business, etc.)?
I scanned last year’s class of 2027 thread, thought they lagged on CS and were heavy on OOS initially, and IS posters were justifiably going crazy. Objectively, nice to see a mix of OOS and IS last Friday…
Oh, to be a fly on the wall of the AO offices.
Yep, last year the CS and Engineering offers came more toward the end. That why this year’s list starting with a handful of CS and Engineering offers was surprising (not that I’m complaining!).
Early on it was more College of Letters and Sciences and other majors. I’m still hoping that last Friday was the “early” release and the next release (either this Friday or next week) will be the big one.
My reason for this speculation is that we have reports that Wisconsin was WAY behind in getting out Financial Aid letters (some RD students not getting FA letters until May 14). Late FA = EA/RD requests for extensions beyond May 15 = delays in Wisconsin knowing their yield = late waitlist offers.
Makes sense to me. Again, thank you.
