My son did EA (was deferred) and ultimately waitlisted. We’ve been checking the portal and it was recently changed to “you can now register for courses.” Does anyone know what this change in status means? We’re at the edge of our seats. We did commit to another school, but Wisconsin is our #1 choice.

The site updated and we weren’t able to go into the student center - for a moment there we got really excited. Later in the evening, we were able to and there wasn’t any updates. Still empty, we’re still holding on tight with hope and prayers.

Is there any international student who has recently gotten off the UW Madison waiting? If yes, could you please specify your major as well!
Does anyone know if they are done with notifying those who got off of the waitlist? Or are they sending out acceptances in waves?
I doubt anybody knows for sure, but I doubt very heavily that they are done sending out waitlist acceptances, since its still before May 1st.
Are waitlist decisions made randomly or are applications reviewed again?
Applications are fully reviewed again.
@UWMadGrad, why do you believe applications are fully reviewed again? According to the information provided by admissions, they do not.
Hopefully, there is another wave in the next couple of weeks
I think it’ll start either this weekend or Monday.

Regarding waitlisted students being fully reviewed, I was told that from an admissions counselor at UW-Madison. Sounds like there’s conflicting information. I’m fine either way as long as we get a “welcome letter.”

We’re in state, my son has two friends who were pulled from the waitlist last Saturday. Both are accepting & going to be roommates - great combo.
is it worth sending in updated grades for this marking period if I received all A’s and one B+? they mentioned to forward them anything that could potentially help them make their decision. best of luck to all

One was Biology, the other one I don’t know.
The mid year grades submitted for the regular decision appeared again. It can’t be updated though.
@ritni2020 I also have the mid year grades on mine now… does everyone have this?
