Congratulations to him! Did he send in anything extra to Madison after being waitlisted (ex. letter of continued interest, updated resume, etc.)?
@teammate No new materials. He wrote to them asking if he should retake SAT (he had 1410), and they responded "Our waitlist is random so it is not a ranked waitlist which means if you took the SAT and got a better score it wouldn’t necessarily change your position on the waitlist. "

@ritni2020 Still waiting for a notification. Upon one of our 300 visits to the Student Center (lol), we noticed that a new admission letter was posted under “Decision Letter” (which previously, was the waitlist letter). Hoping the notifications will arrive soon. He can’t accept the admission until the Student Center is updated.

I’m an OOS (VA) student and I just got accepted after being waitlisted regular decision. I got my first choice major (Biology BS) and I’m absolutely torn because Wisconsin has been my dream school for as long as I can remember, but I already put a deposit down and found roommates for my second choice, Clemson. I genuinely never expected to get into Wisconsin so I decided to not wait for the waitlist cause I thought I would hear back in June. It sucks that we can’t tour again because that would really help my decision. Good luck to the rest of y’all, and I will try to make a decision soon so if I decide to decline, another person can hopefully come off the waitlist.
I am an in-state student and I was accepted last night off of the waitlist at Madison. I was admitted into the college of letters and science with the major of legal studies. Good luck to everyone else waiting! I wish you all the very best!

Yeah no problem! I received an email saying that a new decision was posted on my application. And I just went into my student portal and I saw the decision letter

Could people list the major/school they are waitlisted for or admitted to? My son applied EA, deferred, then waitlisted to Engineering, OOS. Still waiting.

Applied EA (Deferred, Waitlisted, Admitted) OOS - Admitted off the waitlist into CAS, Econ BA Major. Was notified last night by email that my decision was ready (Exact same email that I got when I got waitlisted, just that another one was sent yesterday).
My son was admitted off the waitlist today, we are OOS. He was admitted to the School of Journalism.
Are decisions sent in waves?
Weird that they state decisions are released after May 1 but clearly decisions are coming out now
I think it was weird that they said waitlist decisions are made after May 1st, since just about every school in the country starts pulling before that date. Nothing strange about them pulling before that date, though.
The good thing is at least we know that they are taking people from the waitlist this year-- unlike other years where they didn’t take anyone at all!
