Congrats! Did you apply ED? What major? Can you tell me your stats if you don’t mind?

My son applied as HOD major and got in RD. He applied to cornelius vanderbilt (didn’t get it), but the essay for that scholarship was why he wanted to study what he wanted to study at peabody, and in reflecting back on essays he wrote for all colleges thought it was actually one of his best ones because that major truly fits his interests like a glove.
1590 SAT, 4.0/4.0 gpa (his school doesn’t weigh)

Just got admissions package and am a little stunned by cost next year - we are full pay.

I think they went up a fair amount. For us the first year required costs :
$91,884!

and this does not include books, personal expenses, travel Etc

We are on our way to see vandy again but i don’t know how we can justify this (also knowing this will just go up every year).

Three kids in our area (including mine) got into Peabody ED1 (2 for HOD, 1 for Education). They all have extensive leadership experience.

My daughter’s stats are 4.0UW and 1530 SAT. Her ECs had a lot of depth and had some uniqueness.

My son also has a lot of leadership experience so perhaps they put more emphasis on that.

It is an insane price tag!!

Correction:
The original source is from Vanderbilt:
SAT Middle 50% Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 750-800**
SAT Middle 50% Math: 780-800**

The above numbers were incorrectly deduced from the original data.
Due to the different distribution of math and English subscores, the total SAT score is now estimated to be:
25 percentile: 1540
75 percentile: 1590

Can you please share his EC if you could

Middling extracurriculars, if I’m honest.

Varsity athlete, band, started a club—all of which were, I think, effectively discussed in his essay and allowed him to paint a picture of himself and flesh himself out for the admissions office—but compared to what I often read on here (he didn’t start a company or do research in a lab or win any national competitions) I don’t think his ECs knocked anyone over.

92k is just ridiculous! You can get as good an education, if not better, at a state university!

please meet with a fin-aid officer and ask for an appeal

my son is graduating in a few weeks
his first year was $75k
it’s crazy how much it keeps going up!

We do not qualify for aid. I asked at the finance office if other merit was possible in future and they said almost nonexistent. Our kid qualifies for 6k annual merit scholarship but they also told me to expect 6-7% increases every year. My kid has decided to go elsewhere.
