Vanderbilt Transfer Fall 2010

No envelope in my mailbox in New York either :frowning: says the girl eagerly checking her mailbox everyday

ohmygosh!!! I think I got accepted!!!

…!!!

you think?^

well… my admissions counselor sent me a very brief e-mail:

nicolemae,

Your decision letter was mailed on Tuesday. I believe you will be pleased.

what do you think?

congrats nicolemae! What school did you apply to?

Peabody College, Secondary Education
and College of Arts & Science English double major!

Nicolemae, we have the same counselor I’m from ca too. He said I should be receiving good news because my decision was sent tuesday!

Ahhh Congrats you guys! I applied to Peabody also but I’m in NY. I hope I find out soon!!

@ transferguy123

really?? Congrats!! I’m still a little bit scared… I hope I get the letter in the mail soon!!!

If nobody has received an actual letter yet… the only thing for sure is that they were NOT mailed out on Monday; it does however seem as if they were mailed Tuesday or Wednesday.

I’m on the same boat going nuts with you guys, my app was completed Feb. 1st. It would seem nobody from Arts&Sciences has heard back yet.

I have an interesting idea though, if any of you have the stones to try it: Call the Financial Aid department (instead of the admissions office) and ask if they can go over your financial aid offer with you (say you “lost your info” or something if needed)… If they can pull it up, you got in ;)

@ mdtransfer:

Wow, haha. You submitted on February 1st? I think I submitted the very last day before the deadline…

And it would be pretty embarrassing if the Fin aid couldn’t pull up your info haha. I forsure don’t have the guts to do it… xD

Yeah, I’m assuming you were able to get word back sooner because you applied to Peabody. That seems to be the common link between everyone who has received a decision at this point.

Edit: If anyone wants to know my stats…

Highschool GPA: around 2.8ish 3.2 weighted.
I spent 4 years active duty Army after HS. Now I’m 23, so somewhat non-traditional but not too far out there
College GPA: 3.79 after 45 Credits completed pre-transfer; pre-medical so mostly lab sciences.
SATs were 1400… but that was way back in 2005 heh (before the writing section / out of 1600)
Currently in a Maryland community college.
As far as EC’s go: the usual pre-med track shadowing/hospital volunteering along with physical training and sport related activities.

I am hoping that being 23 will not hurt my app too much… but I am at least assured my old high school gpa will hold very little weight at this point. Let me know if you guys think I have a chance, and with any luck I will see some of you next Fall!

uhhhhh…waitlisted. I don’t know if I’ll be able to wait any longer

For anyone who needs reassurance that letters HAVE been mailed…

lol are you that concerned about privacy

Haha, better to be safe than… not safe!

lol so what if someone knows your name or the websites you go on, if they could hack with that info then all my friends would have hacked me a while ago lol

Hey guys, I just wanted to assuage some of your anxiety. I’ve been following this thread for awhile now but never registered. I sent in all of my materials late January but didn’t realize that my College and High School messed up on some mailings. As such, my transcripts were not mailed until the 1st of March. I was on the phone with my Regional Counselor (Mike Drish) a whole ton to fix the mess-up and thankfully, everything got in on time. That being said, I called Mr. Drish yesterday because I wanted to check-in (as many of you have been doing) and got his voicemail. I left him a message and he called me back today at 5:18. He told me that they sent out mail on the 13th (a Tuesday) but then he proceeded to tell me that I was admitted. Expect to get mail very soon, everyone, and good luck!

Just to clarify my post I received my letter today and I was put on the transfer waitlist. The letter says they expect to have the transfer class finalized by July so that’s the latest I will expect to hear my decision. This sucks.

toofy would you mind posting your stats?
