@Finnegan- I’m at a community college, finished up my general ed and some lower division for my majors and now I’m ready to transfer

i figure their transfer waitlist is more like a deferral, they wait to see the remaining apps before deciding on the deffered (waitlisted) ones, because it is rolling admissions.

just a hypothesis

As a parent, I too am anxious to see that letter come in the mail. When I remove myself from the emotional side of being the parent and look at this through the prism of time, the whole process is a bit ridiculous! Transfer waitlist, give me a break and make a decision!

Checked my mail. No letter from Vandy; just a credit evaluation from Drexel. UGHH I just want to hear from Vandy and Cornell already!!!

So if we get our decisions less than a week before 5/1 do we still have to send the tuition deposit in by 5/1??? Can we ask to send the deposit in after we’ve heard from the other schools we applied to?

According to what my counselor said, basically everyone should definitely get a decision by may 1st, but actually more like next week

@ DreamingBig

You usually don’t have to enroll until at the very least 2 weeks after receiving your decision. And if that isn’t enough time, it isn’t unusual to call asking for an extension.

you can always make a deposit at multiple schools too… if your that distraught it gives you extra time, though it does cost ya some money

no mail yet… i was hoping that people receiving letters yesterday meant that today would be the day for the rest of us, but looks like that has fallen through since nobody’s caught word. booooo

Talk about disappointing. I spent this whole week looking outside the window waiting for the mail to come. I’m not going to bother checking tomorrow, I’ll just wait for next Monday lol

By May 1st, I meant that is the deadline for the schools I’ve already been accepted to have that deadline. So if I don’t get into Vandy or Cornell I have to send one of the others a deposit so I can go to college next year cuz I’m at a community college right now and my 2 years are up!!

Do you think it’s possible to have too many credits completed at community college that it makes you an undesirable transfer?

I don’t think they’d hold that against you. That’d be pretty inhumane

Hi everybody. Just got a letter of acceptance here in the mail in Knoxville, Tennessee. It was written on the 13th and postmarked the 14th.

was it a package acceptance? or just a letter?

would you mind posting stats? when did you submit?

It was an 8x10 letter. Here’s some victory stats:

3.74 at UGA (15 hours last semester)
Potential 4.0 this semester at UT (Midterm Report)…yes I’ve already transferred once haha

Really Great Teacher Recs (Probably the Strongest Part of my application)
I was definitely proud of my essay. I think it was really good.
My extracurriculars were nothing extraordinary.

Good luck everybody. Wish you all the best. Today’s been a very exciting day.

And…
I submitted a large portion of the application two weeks before it was due. However, UT neglected to send my transcript which I found out the day before the application due date. So I had my midterm report and UT transcript overnighted and they got there 1 day after the due date.

Nice job :D

what classes did you take? Everyone always neglects this - organic chemistry is harder than fine arts 101!

well if you got yours today, and you’re in Knoxville, that means some of us should be getting ours tomorrow
thank you so much for posting, it gives me hope, but i just checked the mail and i didn’t get it today
