Wow… you got waitlisted with a 3.84 from the Air Force Academy? Suddenly I’m not feeling too good about my application

I talked to my counselor today and she still hadn’t reviewed my file but she said there are 3 things that can happen. A yes, a no or a waitlist where they will want to see my SPRING semester grades. So if you get waitlisted then you will probably have to send another final transcript after this semester ends.

I’m beginning to wonder if those of us who have counselors that are “out of their office throughout the month of April” are getting the unlucky end of the stick… This is frustrating.

I just got a letter in the mail. Waitlist. I hope Cornell doesn’t do the same to me. At least Cornell had the Cornell specific essays they’re going to look at.

3.5 gpa
Cabinet Member of Student Government
Volunteered 135hrs+ just this semester and have volunteered A LOT in the past 2 years and in high school.
Decent GPA in h.s. (3.4) but not amazing.
Was Pres. and V.P. for multiple clubs in h.s.

Emailed my counselor, said that decisions are still being made until end of the week

now my chance for getting off the waitlist just got dimmed…
air force academy gpa 3.8 T_T

I’m curious as to how many people are on the waitlist…do any of us even have a chance of getting off of it?

I dunno. I’m somewhat hopeful but realistically this is probably going to end as a rejection.

I’m not too hopeful. Seeing as so any of us already got put on the waitlist, I’m seeing the glass as half empty.

Waitlisted too. 4.0, 65 units, community college in California, ecology & polisci majors

i’m just wondering
how many of you have vandy as your first choice

If this board is indicative of the average, then it doesn’t look good for us waitlisters. Even though Vandy is my first choice I think I’m just going to have to move on to my number 2. I don’t have time to wait around half the summer for a rejection.

Vandy was my number two but I haven’t heard from my #1 yet (Cornell)…and I have to put a deposit down on one of my safeties also.

I’ve been following this thread but havent been posting. I live in Atlanta and have yet to get a decision. My admissions counselor is out till Monday as well…@sammywho is your admission counselor Ricky Thrash by chance?

where did all of the counselors go??? mine (John Nesbitt) is also out on university travel till monday…there must be a conference or something.

Im gonna call my counselor on monday to see what i can do to increase my chances of getting off the waitlist…Vandy is my number 1 and i really can’t see myself anywhere else next year ;)

Ah, okay. Kinda a sucky time to schedule a conference though. Geez.

i got an email from my counselor that my application is being deferred and that i need to turn in my spring grades.

the thing is, im on a quarter system and i finish in mid June. what do i do???

what the heck…did anyone get a spring grade request??

Sorry I haven’t checked this forum in a couple days, I found out via mail, and the courses I took were all college level, I didn’t take lower level classes. But my SAT’s were garbage so maybe they took that into account as well because my extracurriculars were decent last two years of high school gpa was 4.2, not great but decent.

hey guys. I got my letter today. Waitlisted. 3.5 gpa @ state college in NJ.
July is along time to wait. I’m gonna put my deposit on a backup school and hope for the best.
