Vanderbilt Transfer Fall 2010

ok i got a letter today saying that my application is on hold (deferred) and got a spring grade request…anyone else?

what does that mean though? waitlist?..hmm

holy crapp a lot of people were waitlisted

what u guys should do is visit vandy and track down the admissions counselor. thats what i did during winter break and i really do believe it puts a face on the application and makes it more personal. i got my friend who went to the same high school as me to introduce me to my guy

Nesbitt is my guy too, and vandy is my
first choice as well. So frustrating :frowning: I wonder
how many people they took off the transfer waitlist last year.

I want to visit Vandy but it’s pretty far away since I’m from NY. Maybe in the beginning of June, after my last final I’ll head down there before heading to wherever I’ll be spending my summer! How useful would visiting be at that point?

I got the spring grades request too and I’m kind of in the same situation. My semester doesn’t end until May 28th, so my grades definitely won’t be out by June 1st. I guess I’m going to call admissions tomorrow to explain and see if there’s anything else they/I can do …

Huge waitlist might be a bad sign for us who desperately want to get off :(

I guess not a lot of kids transferred out of vandy last year or whatever

This will most likely be my last post, thanks everyone this is a great resource and lots of interesting discussions go on here. To all those still waiting or who got waitlisted best of luck into the future and hope everything works out for the best. Never Give Up. To those who will be attending Vanderbilt this fall, hopefully I will see you there (It’s possible right?). So, goodbye and thanks.

km1730: do you know what this letter means? i mean are we considered to be on the waitlist or are we just like on hold and they didn’t look at our application…

this is weird.

I got a big (very nice and fancy) packet…but it is NOT an acceptance packet. Just a viewbook, a letter from fin. aid about vandy’s awesome fin. aid (but i didn’t apply for fin. aid), and a “thank your for your interest letter.” HUH???

I got the same thing from cornell and barnard. it got my parents all excited thinking i got in. bleh.

i’m calling up my counselor this week to find out what’s going on w/ my decision…

I have a question addressed to the admitted–are you guys clear of how to get the report of transferable credits? Do they only proceed to evaluate the courses after the submittion of “the official, final transcript?” Thank you very much!

Waitlisted.

Said I might consider sending spring grades, but my quarter doesn’t end until June 10.

mannnn so many people waitlisted!!! I still haven’t heard of my decision yet : /

Counselor said yesterday she will probably be looking at my file later on in the day yesterday or today.

I know right! It seems like only 1 or 2 people have been admitted into CAS so far

ADMITTED!!! CAS!!!

not sure to attend though. Admitted to WashU as well…

where are you located?

please go to wash U so us waitlistees may have a higher chance of admission!

Currently in pennsylvania. I’m an international though.

idle:
haha… that thought did come into my mind… but I might really need a week or so to decide…

congratulations

ugh… rejected… oh well
