Very important question about The Good Wife

I like Alicia’s character because she is so tough. To me, her true love was Will and she is devastated by his loss again. With Peter, she has done what was expected. I think she has completely detached from Peter and it still surprises him. Alicia is not meant to be warm. And her vulnerability shows in a different way. The show needs to end. Not much substance left.

If ever you wonder “what could have been” about a past love then you get the whole thing with Will.

The actor who played Will Gardner was in an absolutely hilarious parody of Friday Night Lights (the football show) with Amy Schumer. It’s on youtube.

Waiting to watch the Super Bowl halftime show before I switch to Downton Abbey and I just saw a promotion for The Good Wife. First time I have seen it announced that this is truly the final season and there are 9 episodes left. There has been much speculation about whether CBS would try to continue the show after show runners Robert and Michelle King called it a wrap at the end of the season. I love this show, but I’m glad they are calling it a day. Too often the networks don’t know when to let a show reach its natural conclusion (think Gilmore Girls after Amy Sherman Palladino left).

I loved the way Alicia bonded with Lucca in the last episode and how she forgave Eli. She had a sweet moment with Grace when she “fired” her two episodes back. Cary has wooed her back to LA&L to avoid the disaster of the malpractice judgement that was quadruple her insurance limit and they are in a good place. IMO, all that is left for her is to make peace with Diane and to finally divorce Peter. I don’t care if she ends up with the PI (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) or not. I just want her to dump Peter once and for all.

Here’s more information about the show ending in May. I liked having Madame Secretary followed by Good Wife on Sunday nights. Two good shows with strong 40-something women leads. I think it makes sense to end The Good Wife, but I will miss it.

I would love to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan in a long-running lead part on a show for once. He is so attractive and charming. I don’t want him to come and go or be killed off.

I hope Alicia finally divorces Peter and ends up with him. Of course, if she does, that may be the end of any thoughts of a political career. But does she want one?

OK, I haven’t watched from the beginning … but could she end up with Eli? He clearly loves her.

Eli loves Alicia? I never got that impression.

I think he cares for her, but no way does she love him. Eli loves the character played by America Ferrera.

Really? Is it just me? That’s part of why he was so upset when she got mad at him. I don’t think his loyalty to Peter is all about Peter. But those of you who have been watching from the beginning tell me if I’m really off base …

What I’ve seen says the Kings plan for the story to give a final verdict on Peter, to have Alicia deal with her empty nest, and to have her deal with her professional relationship at LA&L. I can’t imagine Alicia and Eli in any kind of romantic relationship. I think he has become disillusioned with Peter and has been wanting to make amends for making Alicia’s life miserable as part of his efforts to advance Peter’s political career. He was so over the top in heat and/or love with Vanessa Williams that it would be a complete 180 to have him show romantic interest in Alicia, IMO.

My personal wish would be for Alicia to go in search of Matthew Goode, but that’s because I can’t get enough of him. Thank goodness I get to see him on Downton for a few more weeks  I could see her leaving Chicago entirely.

I think Eli loves Alicia.

Kalinda and the Good Wife did not get along in real life. In her last season, they were never in the same scene together.

I’ve loved Jeffrey Morgan since his stint on Greys Anatomy.

Seriously, the choice among all of the men on GW I’d be all over that…lol

If Eli loves Alicia it’s not a romantic love. I still don’t get what Alicia gets out of staying with Peter.

I believed Jeffrey Dean Morgan is about to appear as a new major character in this season’s The Walking Dead.

The character Jeffrey Dean Morgan played in the 2nd season of Extant was very similar to his character on The Good Wife.

Add another vote for Matthew Goode to return. The Finn character tried to make Alicia better (and, let’s face it, she’s often not that “good” :p.)

I’ve put up with the loose way they deal with law on the show, but I really think they have jumped the shark now with the malpractice suit. If I’ve followed this correctly, Alicia was working on her own when she was ‘assigned’ to help this guy get bail. She didn’t help him because the judge was against her and then he didn’t hire her to be his lawyer so he got different lawyers for 3 more bond hearings. How is that her fault? But more important, she wasn’t partners with Luca yet, so how would their malpractice insurance (which no one buys for a small amount) cover something done before they were partners and bought the policy? You can’t just switch attorneys and sue the first one. File a grievence? Sure, but a suit? Also if the malpractice policy is in effect, the insurer would provide the attorney.

I’ve watch from the beginning, and used to enjoy it even with all the inaccuracies of the law and the way the law firm was run but now the storylines are just to be mean, not to be tricky or fun.

Although I adore Matthew Goode, I had the feeling that Finn was way too young for her.

I just looked it up, and IRL Goode is 12 years younger. She and JDM are the same age.

I don’t for a minute think they will match her with Finn, but a girl can wish. Actually, I currently suspect Alicia will end the show as an independent woman. Disclaimer - opinion subject to change as episodes progress

Dh walked in at the critical moment last night. :(( Did she say no?
