wish they would at least provide an update, they must know people are speculating about the date due to past years. It really is disappointing they can’t just post, still working on applications, etc…

same - someone up thread said they called admissions and was told “mid-Feb” for EA so maybe next Friday?

YES, I received it here as well.
Just got the reminder about the general scholarship application (I thought my daughter completed, but I guess not) - odd thing is it came to my email and not hers. She just filled it out and already completed the FAFSA a while ago.
How do you know you are way too emotionally invested and borderline crazy about VT admissions? When you start thinking “maybe they will just drop decision at 5pm without any warning this year” and so youre still stalking the portal.

Regardless of filling out the fafsa form or not, could it be a positive sign that some people received the email?
We canceled a previous campus visit and explained we’d reschedule for after decisions. I asked if the 14th or 17th were safe to reschedule with that in mind. I was told they would release mid-Feb so the 17th was perfect. Based on that, I’m almost certain it will be released on the 14th.

We completed fafsa back in December, and still received the email.
Looks like it’s going to be next week!
We got the scholarship email, but not the FAFSA email. Did FAFSA months ago, but hadn’t done the scholarship application.
Some schools are rolling out their RD acceptances…

Well, we heard some stuff tonight… just not from Virginia Tech. (Son got into honors college at Pitt and got a nice scholarship at JMU.)
I keep thinking maybe they (VT) are just not announcing it but if we check the portal again it will be there. I do not know WHY I am thinking this incredibly stupid time waster of an idea, but there you have it.

Was it one of the scholarships you applied for at JMu? We missed JMU’s scholarships applications. There was an issue that kept saying we did not qualify. Was quite bummed and financial aid did not get back to us and told us we missed the deadline even though I have the email to prove they had our portal messed up.
It was the Madison Scholarship. I have no idea if it needed an extra application - I looked through his list of essays and I don’t see one titled anything like “JMU Madison” so either it didn’t need an essay or he didn’t save whatever he did.
I think that one you do not need to apply for so that is great! I am assuming you got an email about it?
Yep, he had an email that gave the details but it also pointed to his portal. Basically the same verbiage in a letter under the scholarship hub in the portal.
