Are there any stats on how many people applied EA?
Everyone has their reasons but I donât know how anyone could pass up UVA.
I wish VT was more transparent like UVA Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process
I mean they say late February.
Itâs transparent - just not for the impatient :).
Tomorrow at 5. it was posted on twitter
Juan Espinoza just posted on X that decisions out tomorrow at 5:00pm.
Hang in there everyone! DD26 is a VT junior majoring in engineering. Selected VT over a Full ride to the University of Miami and the University of California Irvine. She waited and is now loving liife as a Hokie!!
Yes just saw that post. Thatâs pretty official. Guess they couldnât get it done today.
So if someone is deferred, theyâre deferred for 2 - 2 1/2 weeks?
I donât see it on his twitter, only a post from 2022. Where do you see it?
Easy why someone would choose VT over UVA . VT is a better fit than UVA for that particular kid. Older son did engineering at UVA(loved it),Younger kid did engineering at VT(loved it). He was not a competive applicant for UVA as a high school senior and did not apply .He had to do"university studies" for first semester before he could transfer into engineerinmg.
When I asked VT kid if he wanted to put in a transfer application to UVA(with 3.9 plus grades), he quickly said no. VT was a better fit for him . And VT initially waitlisted him . Good luck to those of you waiting. Sounds like you will know fairly soon!
How do you know about William and Mary already? I thought that they only offered ED and RD. If you did ED, you wouldnât still be considering any other schools⌠and RD hasnât been released yet.
THANK YOU so much! Yay!
Different schools have different strengths. Our S25 is applying for Aerospace Engineering, which VT has a clear advantage when it comes to faculty, facilities, and connections vs. UVA, which doesnât even have an ABET-accredited program.
I had asked about deferrals on this board and if VT had them. It doesnât appear they had them last yearâŚjust waitlist, of which they closed with very few admits. Someone here said they did have deferrals. But I canât find any info on it.
Good luck everyone!!
@Sealbrown UVA has had an ABET accredited aerospace engineering program since 1958 , according to the ABET site
Glad we finally know when decisions are coming!
Please post results to the results thread when you hear. It helps future students avoid having to sort through pages of comments.
Many kids choose lesser ranked over higher or safeties over reaches. Both mine did. My daughters bff at a regional public turned down Rice, Vandy and Penn. these are every day things.
Iâm sure many that walk the Va tech campus got into higher ranked schools - and you could say that aboit most any campus in America - with flagships all likely all having Ivy caliber kids.
If Va Tech is right and affordable, then itâs right.
I canât imagine walking every day on a nicer campus.
