i called the admissions office 2 days ago and asked when in-state waitlist people will hear back and he said not until around May 1…but I think that might not be entirely true bc ive heard of a lot of people hearing back throughout april in years past
That sucks… but I definitely feel like it’s earlier than May
Did anyone get an email?
Nope
Nothing
Just emailed Admissions to check on any in-state waitlist announcements this week. They replied ‘We have not decided if any students will be admitted from the waitlist this week. When a decision is made, the student will be notified.’
This wait game is brutal
I would suggest preparing yourself to not get off the waitlist. The odds are low. Start mentally preparing for plan B.
Do they take people off the waitlist randomly?
do we think any will come out today?
Has anyone in state received an offer? Went on social media and someone said that primarily in-state people got off the waitlist so far. But I’ve only heard OOS kids, from Reddit and on here..
I have only heard OOS getting off waitlist about 10 days ago. I haven’t heard any IS yet.
Why do I have a feeling they’re done with waitlist pulls…
A person on reddit said they got off the VT waitlist today.
Oh no…. Im scared they’re done
Yep, just heard. Only heard of out of state though
they are definitely only letting out of state people in right now because they get more money… i just hope they let in-state people off!!!
Accepted for transfer
I’m hearing OOS students are also declining their offers due the amount of money they received.
Every year kids decline offers. Their yield is about 25% (or was last year) so only 1 in 4 accepted attended. Nearly every institution has a yield far below 50%.
So every year people turn down Va Tech and others for various reasons - including cost.
That’s not new.
