We haven’t seen anything on anyone getting off business waitlist - they may not have gotten to that point yet.
Don’t lose hope waitlisters - the majority will happen after 5/1. Right now your just seeing some departments that are targeting some low trends (looks like out of state trends).
@JoonBee2002 Same! My current senior has chosen to go to OSU instead of VT (his older brother is a Hokie), but I’m definitely rooting for HokieCrazy’s son and so many others!
Is there absolutely anything I can do to increase my chances of getting off the waitlist? I was waitlisted (Psych major) with a 3.94 weighted GPA and 1430 SAT score instate. Do you all think this is enough to get off the waitlist? I was actively participating in my community with many volunteer hours, a job, and I was President of a club having to do with my major and Virginia Tech was/is my first choice.
@jendraws LOVE Cal Poly, I have a daughter there for Journalism but couldn’t convince my architecture daughter to attend! Congrats to your daughter, she will love it!
I would assume that button is only there if you have been offered admission as an option to decline your offer. You would not be able to miss the button, it is right below the button to accept your offer. It likely appears after acceptance. Good luck to your son!!
@HokieCrazy I am rooting for your son as well. My son is on wait list but he pretty much is committed to South Carolina. Dont think he would change his mind at this point unless something crazy happens.
My son heard another kid from his school just got off of waitlist, so there must be a Tuesday theme in-progress. Not sure if he was a COE student or not, but my son was a bit disappointed, as he’s not considered one of the top students at his school. Sad.
My OOS son (NJ) just heard from the regional admissions counselor to expect good news later today. He is Engineering (CS). 4.3 weighted GPA, 1350 SAT, 7 APs, lots of honors, activities, etc. He will accept. I think UMD is better for his major, but he wants Tech.
