Got waitlisted to Quinnipiac, Bryant, Fairfield, and Loyola Maryland and as of today I GOT INTO ALL.

I got in from the waitlist at Dartmouh College, do everything those newspapers say to in order to get off the waitlist! It works!

Congrats you guys and best of luck to those waiting.

A little bump :)

I think waitlistees need a bit of optimism.

How about these apples!

My S was accepted off of two waitlists.
My D was accepted off of the waitlist of her dream school.

Chinablue, what’d your kids do to get off of waitlist?

lolcats4, nice! Pomona and the Claremont Colleges are amazing. Hardest decision of my life was having to turn down McKenna I hope I made the right choice lol.

Congrats to all for getting out of the waitlist! Does anyone know when Smith, Mt. Holyoke, and BU start sending out their decision for the waitlisted students? I’m getting anxious haha.

Waitlist not to be used at Amherst College this year.

anybody know about UNC this year?

Virginia Tech. I have until next friday to decide whether to attend or not.

So have they only sent out acceptances? Are have they all been mailed? (Georgetown)

^tdh3k: i’m waiting for the mailman … i think he has the answer for Georgetown.

i got off 4 waitlists this year. dont give up

is it worth it to send a letter if i’m on the waitlist for NYU? I applied as a sophomore transfer to CAS. how is this letter supposed to differ from my initial app’s essay response?

i’m also a big believer in not giving up until a fact comes along that says its over. my S got in to the college of his choice off the waitlist, and he was also WL @ his 2nd choice (we didn’t wait for an answer from them.) he also got off the WL for his 5th and 6th choices the same day. hopefully when he declined, those places went to others. while its certainly true that the odds are tiny, for each individual, until the school says were done, it still might happen for you as it did for my S. Just don’t forget to focus on the sure things you have in front of you, and be philosophical if it doesn’t work out. The most important thing to remember, as many here say, is to make the most of whatever hand you are dealt. Good luck to everyone.

Two success stories from my school:

A few years ago, a kid from my school got off of Columbia’s waitlist in AUGUST. Literally days before he was leaving to attend Vanderbilt.

Last year, another kid got off of Harvard’s waitlist. No one knew he applied there, and no one expected that he would get in! He was on his way to UPenn.

you realize how old this thread is right? no one has posted in it in the past 6 months…

And your point is?
