Did those that received merit (plus need-based) apply for need based with a CSS? Did anyone receive just merit?
We used data from Jeff Selingo and other resources. Tried to apply mostly to colleges who are buyers (give out merit aid) and Wake Forest is not â they are a âsellerâ. But still wanted to apply. On waitlist, expressed a lot of interest with touring and other contacts. Disappointed not offered admission but not expecting any merit offer at this point, even if accepted. Syracuse and University of Miami offered much more â they are âbuyersâ. Wake Forest was very attractive and we have family nearby too. If these high priced colleges offer no merit, itâs a no go. Better offers elsewhere.

Posting for those coming next year as things changed a bit from previous year it seems.
My â24 was one of 50 chosen from 18,000 for signature scholar weekend. They give about half of attendees full-rides worth $360k. Supposedly the ones that didnât receive are considered for Presidential next, but mine didnât have activities that aligned. Supposedly in previous years it came with automatic acceptance early but that didnât happen this year. Mine was accepted during normal regular decision date with no merit.

My DS was accepted, but will be accepting an offer from another college after he jumps through a couple of hoops. Iâm sure he wonât be the only one, so hang in there, waitlisted folks! Spots will be opening up.

Someone on Reddit said she got off the waitlist yesterday. Has anyone else heard anything?
I know of boy in our area (Texas) who got off the waitlist a few days ago. The are definitely beginning to notify, but from my experience it is one by one. The WL acceptances could trickle in through July. I very much doubt they will have a big release on any specific date.
My son was accepted off the waitlist on April 24.

Has anyone been contacted by Wake this week? (The week of May 13th?) I sense they may be reloadingâŠ
We have heard of one student who was admitted on Monday 5/13, I believe. Wondering though if despite WF 5/1 deadline if some accepted RD were given until 5/15 to accept (if they requested) and if that will lead to more waitlist movement?
Anyone hear of any movement off the waitlist this week? Do calls tend to only get made on Mondays (or this week on Tuesday given the holiday)?
Movement yesterday. Notified via phone call and email.
