Wake Forest ED 2024

I applied on Sep 4th with everything in before that date except for my counselor ED agreement going in on Sep 19th. Do you think my waiting period starts on the 4th or the 19th?

@codyboy I would call the admissions office and ask them. My guess is that it would start once you got the ED agreement to them. The official ED policy is that it is ā€œrollingā€ ED, but there’s no rush for them to look at what they think is an RD app until after they’ve finished the ED apps. So, I’d think they started the review on Sept 19th. JMO.

Has anyone found out recently? I applied on Sep 4th and ED agreement came in on the 9th. Is it weird I haven’t found out yet?

Applied ED sept 1. interviewed july. received my notification last night (october 1). 88 GPA (my school does not do weighted)with the maximum amount of AP’s my high school offers. hundreds of hours of service, lost of other extra curriculars. rejected.

@codyboy I haven’t found out either. My application (apart from the interview) was complete in August. Also, I interviewed in person, and they told us that not everyone gets an interview. I am surprised that it has taken this long.

@gray2327 Did you turn in an SAT and/or ACT? If so, do you mind me asking your scores? Also, how did WF let you know? Did something change on the portal? Regular mail? Email?

i did not submit my scores. and i saw through the portal

I don’t think WF is ever going to let me know - or, more likely, they will let me know in December that I have been deferred or denied.

Ugh. So sorry to hear. Any EA options or second choices?

I thought I’d hear by now. All the checks on my application portal were green before the end of August except the interview, and that was checked off two weeks ago. If they are going to deny or defer me, I’d like to get it over with so I can move forward with another school.

DS called this morning and told us he had been accepted. There was a status change notice dated 10/5/2019 on his WFU application status portal that linked to an acceptance letter. This is a change from prior years where first notice has been by USPS mail.

His application was complete on 9/10/2019, interviewed in July. DS is a junior at Wake.

Stats:
4.0 GPA unweighted, 31 ACT (32 SS) submitted, AP Scholar with Honors, Eagle scout, two sport athlete, MUN officer, Boy’s State cabinet level officer, RYLA, HOBY, really good local and school leadership activities.

Good luck to all those waiting.

Sorry, misspoke. Sister is a junior at Wake, not DS.

I ain’t heard nothin

I applied Sept 22 and heard back Oct 8 (16 days) through the online portal. I was accepted!

I received an email saying my common application was complete… but never received an email saying my whole application was under review. Should I email admissions?

I never received anything saying my application was under review. I had all green checks and then I was assigned an ID number, I think that is when my application went under review.

@deac2024 I am stunned. I did everything 6 weeks ago except the interview, which was done over 2 weeks ago. I’ve called, and they’ve said ā€œyou’ll hear about 10 weeks from date of submittal.ā€ I understand if they want to reject me - my test scores are pretty good - 35 ACT superscored - but my grades aren’t great. I can live with rejection, but I’d like to know. Just so I know that I’m looking at the right thing, the portal says:

ā€œApplication Status for (my name)ā€ at the top
Then a line with my WFU ID number
My address
List of the items I’ve submitted

Am I on the right page to check the status? What will pop up showing some kind of notice?

Thanks

@SlimJim001, you are looking at the right page. When there is a decision a ā€œStatus Updateā€ message will appear with a link just under the ā€œEdit Addressesā€ script. DS checked several times a day and it appeared the same day he got his letter.

It’s my understanding that candidates are not evaluated at all by admissions staff until all documents are in and interviews complete. It makes sense that an AO only be given a completed application. We had a similar delay with DD due to a misunderstanding regarding the CSS Profile. I hope you hear something soon. Good luck.

@SlimJim001 I would wait it out, I know that it can take longer sometimes. I was surprised I heard back as fast as I did. I interviewed in June and had everything accept the application in by July. I definitely showed a lot of demonstrated interest-interviewed, wrote a handwritten thank you, visited 6 times, did the summer immersion program, emailed my interviewer and let them know I applied, and talked to all admissions counselors that visited my school as well as sent them follow up emails.

I still can’t believe that I haven’t heard yet.

@SlimJim001 have you tried calling the admissions office?
