Thank you all for posting recently. Provided great insight and perspective.
My daughter found out through the portal today that she was accepted. Received an email saying portal status was updated. Checked portal and read the news. Letter not received yet.
Applied 10/20/19, so 3.5 weeks
SAT submitted - 1350
GPA ~ 3.8
Congratulations! Still anxiously awaiting my response. Would you mind sharing what state or region you live in as well as the competitiveness of you daughterâs school?
Does anyone have any inkling about when to send scores or not send scores? What is everyoneâs opinions on the cut off for not sending an ACT score for a student with a high GPA and rigor?
I really donât think that is true. As the students applied closer to the 11-15 deadline, I believe the response time gets longer. If you look at last yearâs thread, students were accepted 6 weeks after application was submitted. I think it really depends on a lot of different factors.
What date do you consider as complete ⊠when you applied or when all documents are received? Our checklist varies between 10/28 (application submitted) and 11/2 (school transcripts, etc submitted). Thanks
It is my understanding that applications arenât given to admissions officers until all outstanding documents are in. Start your clock ticking when all the items have green check marks. Within 4-7 weeks after that most ED applicants have decisions. DSâs wait was about 28 days.
I applied on 10/23 and nothing yet⊠should be finding out soon because people from another local school found out last week and early this week who applied around the same time.
My DD got in last night!! We live in NYC. She applied 10/30 (although everything had green check marks the next morning on 10/31).
1360 SAT (submitted)
96 unweighted, 97 weighted
7 AP classes
Not so many EC because she is a theater kid so it is all theater (and tennis and a few others like honor society and volunteer work)
I submitted on 10/13 and everything was in on 10/24. Yesterday I head back and got rejected. I heard through the portal. The rejection letter was weird, didnât say anything until the last paragraph. Iâm from NYC tristate area. Best of luck to everyone who still has to hear.
If you donât mind sharing your interview experience because I applied recently but I have an upcoming interview and donât really know what to expect except for why wake?
@2020senior751 My daughter said the interview was much more conversational and laid back than she expected. She was nervous going into it but really enjoyed it. Definitely about why wake is a good fit. Asked about her favorite book and author. Somehow started a friendly debate about if the soul of a person is in the heart or the brain (I think the question was about something that fascinated her). He asked her when sheâs not in school or doing her extracurricular activities, how would she spend her time. The conversation just kind of evolved and lasted about 30-40 minutes.
