I’m not a big fan of Father Gabriel- he is an emotional wreck and in reality would not last long in this world. Carol really had the right idea when she ignored him as he was being attacked by one of the Wolves. Hopefully they will off him soon.
I was more upset by the turtle massacre than by anything else. We have pet turtles Also, I guess the whole pasta party is off the table for now.
What will the backstory be for the wolves? They remind me of the reavers in Josh Whedon’s Serenity, the Firefly movie. What inspires this kind of senseless violence?
I liked how at the beginning of last week’s episode Carol was putting a casserole in the oven to bake for 55 minutes, and at the end of the episode when the timer rang, Carl took it out. All that action in 55 minutes!
Speculation I’ve read is that the guts we see belong to Nicholas and it’s possible that if Glenn gets covered in enough gore the walkers will consider him already dead as in the Season 1 scene in Atlanta. He may at that point be able to roll under the dumpster and show up in Alexandria later. I think the show has a different death in mind for Glenn.
I could be wrong but I think he’s gone. Here’s what the showrunner says:
“In some way we will see Glenn – some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn – again. Either in flashback or the current story to help complete the story.”
“In some way” = walker Glenn.
Besides, even if he’s NOT dead now, I’m betting he doesn’t make it much longer. His death has been rumored for a long time, and Norman Reedus allegedly let it slip that Glenn dies this season.
I guess I always thought Glenn would stick around, as he was with Rick from the beginning. This season just seems to be particularly brutal, don’t you think?
The series creators caught lots of flak from the comic fans about how boring the season was that centered on Hershel’s farm — too much character bickering and not enough gore — and also the hospital sequence for the same reason. So instead of getting what I would have preferred, a lengthier integration of Rick and his people into the Alexandria world and the challenges of bringing those people up to speed (more food rationing, weapons training, better security) — with of course zombie and Wolves attacks spread out over the season — we are getting all this brutality right away in the first three episodes and Alexandria essentially collapsing.
I don’t read the comic book series, but I suspect this level of violence and death is what those fans are looking for when they tune in. If not even worse so I think we should brace ourselves.
I’m so upset! I think Glenn is dead, or a zombie by now. When he called Rick “dumb***” again I thought, oh no. And he’s been given nothing to do for a long time, he and Maggie have no story line anymore.
