Walking Dead 2014

They are more decomposed each season. Not so fresh.

There was one zombie movie, a relatively recent one, in which they had some consciousness. In WD the TV show, they don’t.

Any thoughts on this latest episode?

My thoughts: why is everyone stupidly walking around a known Savior area as if there are no threats?

Takeaway #1 - Carol is a bona fide badass even when she has her crisis.

Takeaway #2 - With Dwight’s statement about going in to take any of the things they want and any of the people they want, combined with all the recent references to family and relationships, makes me think the whole fabric of Alexandria is doomed and Rick’s “family” is the main casualty.

I won’t see the last episode until nearly a week later and will have to avoid spoilers.

Yes, she is.

I love her character. I love how one reason she can be so badass is because no one ever suspects a woman like her could be.

Am I the only one freaked out by what happened to Daryl (what exactly did happen to him anyway?)?

Carol continues to be my favorite and the fact that she thought to sew an automatic weapon into the sleeve of Tobin’s coat before she took off just confirms that even in the middle of an existential crisis, she’s still the smartest one in the group.

The writers do seem to have all the characters get seriously stupid at just the wrong times. They couldn’t have gotten that dumb just by being in Alexandria for a few months. I’m scared to watch next week.

So, is he dead? With the blood splattering like it did, I would have thought it was his head. But the comment from the guy made it seem like he was not. But maybe the blood was from something else.

i hate seeing Carol have a melt down…but who wouldn’t? I hope she pulls it together and they don’t kill her off. I agree…that was genius the automatic in the sleeve.

I am pretty peeved at the writers and show runners right now. Are they really trying to make me hate all my favorites by having them act stupid and out-of-character? I am rapidly running out of patience.

Humpph.

Supposedly Daryl was shot in the shoulder or something and he’s okay (at least that’s the buzz). The actress who plays Maggie has said that the person who gets killed in the finale is a “real shocker,” someone we wouldn’t expect. That makes me think it’s not Glenn (who was killed by Negan in the graphic novel). I wouldn’t be surprised it it was Carol or Darryl – I’d be unhappy, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Their deaths are being telegraphed pretty heavily.

The only surprise, for me, would be if Rick died.

^I hope it is Rick, assuming someone has to die in the finale.

That would be pretty shocking, I guess, since the whole series begins with him. However, I think the character is very uninteresting at this point in time, while all the others are still pretty interesting. I am interested to see what happens with Abraham, if he survives. I want Carol and Daryl to end up together.

After Alwaysamom brought it up, I went back to watch the very first few episodes and agree with how changed the zombies are now. Zombies that use tools are zombies I would have to wonder about still being some kind of human. And I enjoyed very much seeing Carol at the beginning of it all.

I may wait and watch this week and next week together so I’m not on edge all week, not able to sleep, wondering about the finale. These violent shows make me very anxious and at some point I’d probably better give them up. I did read all the spoilers I could find. I also tend to read the last chapter of a book once I’m about a third of the way into it. I’m just too old for cliff hangers and surprises and such.

adding: Michonne is my favorite character, but I don’t feel like we’ve seen her much this season.

I am thinking a cliffhanger.

I would hate to see Daryl go (I don’t think he is badly hurt either, or maybe even hurt at all; remember how bad Dwight’s aim is?), but the show has struggled to know what to do with him lately. Ditto Glenn. I think Glenn’s best story lines were the first two seasons. I loved his understated courage and competence.

Maybe Maggie? Maybe she miscarries so Negan isn’t killing a pregnant woman(!). She has had all these chances for growth and leadership all of a sudden—never a good sign.

People it could be but I would hate to see go? Carol or Morgan. I love Carol. That would hurt. Losing Morgan would make some sort of sense in the story telling about moral choices, but seems like there is still so much that could be done with him.

Yeah, Rick would shock me. Or Michonne. Oh please not her! But sex with Rick equals death, too.

I would hate to see Michonne die, too – and yes, that would be a shocker. Given the choice, I’m hoping that Rick dies, but I know that will never happen. It seems that Andrew Lincoln is Untouchable.

Maybe I misinterpreted Lauren Cohan – maybe CAROL comes back and kills Glenn and Darryl. That would be a shocker!

I guess killing off Rick would be like killing off Captain Kirk. Or whoever the main guy was on Lost. OTOH - maybe it makes television history

adding: although I hate to admit it, even about a fictional character, I want them to kill Rick off. :frowning:

There were four people captured by the saviors: Glenn, Daryl, Michonne, and Rosita. Humm, who doesn’t have a large fan following? So my bet is on Rosita.

If it isn’t Rosita, then my bet is on Abraham. He has had some kind of breakthrough, he is in love, happy, etc… time to die!

Oh, and Carol and Morgan show up and save everyone else at the last minute.

Seems like what the writers would do, given past history.

Here’s my guess, totally warped I admit.

There have been multiple times someone says it is no time to have a baby. Maggie miscarries (no need for baby-bump prosthetic), then Negan, psychopathic Enforcer of the Apocalypse, kills Judith. Darryl had to be shot to make him helpless, Carol is gone, and Negan will try to break Rick’s spirit.

That would be shocking!

Magnetron, I thought something similar was a possibility. A real tear-jerker = killing off Judith.

I, too, hope that it’s not Morgan. I think he is one of the more interesting characters on the show. I liked his scene with Rick this week.

I think I’m checking out of TWD and will just follow the plot on recaps. Once Glenn stood looking at the polaroids of people with their heads bashed in by Negan’s soon to be seen baseball bat, I decided that’s a bridge too far. I still haven’t forgotten the Terminus penultimate scene, these producers will do anything. Including having people who have managed to stay alive by their wits thus far make the dumbest possible decisions to get themselves killed.

It’s going to be a cliffhanger – and seven months later, in October, it’ll turn out that Negan missed with his bat and was really only hitting a dumpster, which they’ll all slide under and out the other side.

It’s 10:12 pm and I’m waiting till the finale is over to read all the spoilers… and then tomorrow I’ll watch on my kindle and it won’t be too suspenseful for me.

I am going to find out who dies before I go to bed tonight.

We don’t have TV.

If anyone wants to post who dies, that would be much appreciated.

Evidently we still don’t know who dies.

Can we eliminate some possibilities?

At least Fear the Walking Dead will start up again soon now.
