Week Day Boarding Only?

Hi: I’m going to boarding school as a boarder in the fall, and while I already have asked about this topic before, another concern has popped up regarding it. I was told to ask here in a new thread for better answers.

Has it been heard of that people only do week day boarding? The reason I ask is because I do art with a private teacher as an extra curricular, and I would like to continue throughout my high school years. And with that, I am planning to do AP Chinese also as an extra curricular that another institute offers, and will be taking the exam next year. This is also while taking Spanish at Loomis. ( AP Chinese will be only for this coming school year. The institute doesn’t offer courses beyond 9th grade ) The institute was online this year, but it might seem they become in person again so that will put a dent in my schedule. My mom suggested that I come home every weekend to be able to do these extra curricular activities, or at least just on Sunday’s from 9-3…
I oppose the idea, but I would like to hear some other ideas from you guys.

Thank you for your time, I know this was a long read.

Your best bet is to ask Loomis.

Ask Loomis, also ask if they can facilitate your activities without the other teachers.

You do need to ask Loomis what their boarder policy is as a starting point. Schools I know of would not allow a boarder to go home every weekend. In fact some have a fairly strict, one day a week off campus policy.

Some schools, such as the one I will be attending this fall do allow people home on certain weekends. However, there are a fair amount of weekends known as “Closed Weekends” where boarders are required to stay on campus.

Your best bet is to contact Loomis and ask.
