<p>Well, don’t go for the $89 deal on E-bay for the Complete West Wing this week. Just got burned by a fraudulent seller :(</p>
<p>That’s terrible! Does eBay provide some sort of insurance to cover your loss, like Amazon’s A-Z guarantee?</p>
<p>I’m not sure yet. I paid through Paypal, so they provide some protection (but there are some exceptions, and I am not sure yet if I will get my money back). I have opened a dispute with PayPal, so we will see. And back to the drawing board to find an affordable copy of WW Complete.</p>

<p>I almost came out here and posted that deal, as it was a “buy now” deal with multiple copies. But it was after midnight on a work night, so I didn’t. Lucky for you guys :)</p>
<p>Believe it or not, a package actually arrived after I filed a complaint with Paypal. It came from China, and not New York as the eBay seller advertised. And I think it is a bootlegged copy… not very professionally packaged, some of the disks don’t work, and there are some sound quality issues (can hear a tick-tick-tick in the background of some shots, sounds like a reel-to-reel movie…). So I will continue to pursue getting my money back from Paypal…</p>

<p>I hope you get a copy - I have been really enjoying the series. My oldest lives at home (25!) and she and I started at the beginning. We watch together and are nearly at the end of season two.<br>

<p>No, not much feedback for the seller, so I should have known better. And Ebay has kicked them off. I still may get money back from PayPal, they are “investigating”. We have been cobbling together watching (library copies, Netflix, etc.). Just finished Season 3, JustAMomof4 (<em>sniff</em> - but I won’t tell if you haven’t seen it yet).</p>
<p>I loathe and despise anyone who got the entire West Wing set for under $100. 
Our local Best Buy has it for $225.</p>

I do recognize that a bargain is only a bargain as long as you have the money, but I think $225 is a deal.
Both of my teams are out of the SEC tournament and seem to be NIT bound. Nothing on tv tonight, so I’m back to my cherished dvds. I swore I would complete the entire series pre-election (for the third time), but didn’t make it past the end of season four. Started season five last Saturday night. All I can say is they have been worth every penny of what was spent acquiring them as each season was released. Some were gifts from my kids which made the birthday/Christmas gift easy for them and delightful for me.</p>
<p>Hi, Hindoo! Long time no see! There are some legit deals on the internet for ~$150 (or even as low as $135 sometimes). Go to Bizrate.com and search for West Wing Complete. I also lost out on a couple of eBay auctions that went for around $110 for a set that had been watched once according to the sellers. </p>
<p>I, of couse, got burned by someone in Shanghai, as described in previous posts. I think Paypal is going to insist that I ship the bootleg copy back to Shanghai at my expense before giving me a refund. I am very annoyed at this, as it was marketed as from “Susan in New York”, not some guy in Shanghai, and shipping was supposed to be free. The seller has been kicked off eBay, didn’t provide me with a return shipping address (but may give one to Paypal), and won’t reply to any of my e-mails (but Paypal says he will talk to them). And I figure the seller will just turn around and try to sell the bad copy to someone else. Seems to me that Paypal is just enabling a crook…</p>
<p>Sad news tonight for West Wing fans. Ron Silver died today. He’d been fighting esophageal cancer for the past two years. He was 62. Rest in peace, Bruno.</p>
<p>Oh, that is sad. I didn’t know he was fighting cancer. I thought he was very talented and perfectly cast in that role.</p>
<p>I did not realize he played Bruno. Bruno Gianelli was a great character. Didn’t Ron Silver endorse Bush in 2004? It doesn’t matter now - rest in peace Mr. Silver.</p>
<p>Amazon Goldbox deal of the day is the boxed set for $100. I ordered one for D1’s birthday. She’s going to be SO pleased!</p>
