Essays:
They were very descriptive and unique - like a story
I talked about how learning how to make candles made me appreciate the process that goes into becoming successful not just the end result.
Also, I talked about growing up in a big family and how African values mould my perspectives today.

Interviews:
Went extremely well, we talked for much longer than the allotted time and the conversation flowed really well.
I didn’t interview for Hotchkiss though.

You sound like a strong applicant, assuming admissions appreciates the transcript translation - which I think most will.

I think you pull one, but truly hard to know for sure.

Good luck.

Which grade are you applying for? If you’re applying for 10th or 11th, you could increase your chances by requesting to reclassify (i.e. repeat the last school year). There are far more 9th grade slots than 10th grade spots, and far more 10th grade slots than 11th grade slots, so going for a lower year decreases the competition for any one slot.

oh ■■■■.’
my mom told me that after the fact, i’d already applied.
Repeating a grade could also let me get use to the school

You can still send them an email asking if reclassifying is an option at this stage. It can’t hurt, and it could increase your chances.
