I have had a lipstick style charger for awhile but before our big trip in September I bought a charmast charger - it has 4 built in cables for charging 4 different types of devices (I used the iPad/iPhone one and the headphone one) is about the size and shape of an iPhone, and shows the percent charge it has both when it’s charging and when it is charging a device.
I first read this as you having a lipstick charger! For the life of me I could not imagine why someone would need this item. Maybe I should wait and read after my coffee!
You can never have too many portable chargers or cords
D wanted a macbook air for her xmas gift. Found one on sale at amazon (BF deal). Amazon is also offering a 200$ gift card right now if you apply for the amazon visa. Got the card and then used the gift card to help pay for the mac.
It looks like this will be an apple holiday for me. S wants a new phone and H needs a new apple watch …
What’s the best deal folks have found for an iphone? I’d prefer not to get one through any specific carrier - those don’t seem like good deals to me. Thinking of buying it direct.
Just saw this on tv for those looking for a Hulu deal:
Just a note that it is new subscribers only - or not a subscriber in the last month (or whatever!)
You can always use another email address and/or name!
I’ve already used two different emails in two years for deals; will have to decide if it’s worth saving $7/month to set up a new account on a third one! Or have husband do it.
Edit to add husband says, go ahead and use his.
So start a new account with different email and then cancel the current one?? Hmmm…
I’ve done it; the only downside is that none of your current preferences/viewing history will be saved. The new account starts fresh.
Wasn’t really looking for it but I got myself a Mandoline bc it was a good Black Friday deal on Amazon.
My husband decided against Nespresso (he decided on the Jojirushi one some of us were talking about on CC some time ago).
My DIL found her hair appliance on good sale and purchased it.
I got son’s Shokz.
There are some “good deals” to be had this year, and I’m kind of glad for early shopping.
Care to share the mandoline link? I do not have one.
This is the one I got, but there are others on sale.
https://www.amazon.com/Gramercy-Kitchen-Adjustable-Stainless-Mandoline/dp/B01IW6ORDY/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?
I’m not sure if that will work as a link, but it’s the Gramercy Kithcen Adjustable Stainless Mandoline
That’s a nice one! I like that they include gloves, not band-aids.
@snowball - at least you were returning unopened new items. I was in line the other day behind this couple. They were returning an air mattress - opened, no box. They didn’t have a bill either. The associate was a bit frazzled - crazy busy that day. She told them that in the future, they really should have the bill. They said they bought it about 6 months ago and they were returning it since it wouldn’t stay firm. When she looked it up, they had bought it about 18 months before! And she still took the return…
Thanks for the Hulu deal.
Max has a Black Friday Deal on their website. $2.99 /month for 6 months.
@snowball Thank you!
My H just said the same. All good for Hulu for another year.
Last year I kept it a secret until xmas and put a note in his stocking.
On Black Friday, I’m trying to break out of my reliance on Amazon. IYNYK.
These sites list ethical alternatives for everything from groceries to gifts.
Thanks @gosmom.
I am trying to break the cord with Amazon (will not happen 100% as H orders from them) for multiple reasons.
I am shopping Small Business Saturday and doing online ordering from non Amazon sites.
I have to believe I win the most unconventional Black Friday gift purchase, unless anyone else is also buying a bullet proof plate carrier…
*Edited to add the set up video. What a PITA, but necessary.
Not buying one. But… I do remember a friend eagerly agreeing to purchase a bullet proof for his EMT daughter who requested it as her Christmas gift. (Tis a no brainer for parents in the safety mindset. We and some of our friends have mentioned buying tires for our grown kids.)
