What are you doing today?

Yesterday was the usual, walking with Sabapup, the gym and a Pilates mat class, yard work, scheduling a heavy trash pickup. Today I walked with Sabapup then made some calls as I had quite a bit of Sabadog’s prescription diet remaining. Chewy told me to just discard it, but I didn’t want to waste it. One shelter couldn’t accept it, but the local low cost non-profit vet clinic could. I took 60 cans of hepatic wet food and a 28 pound bag of hepatic dry and they were happy to receive it. Feels like we are officially a one dog household now. Not sure what else today holds. I was thinking of planning a short trip for August but doesn’t look like that’s going to happen at all.

It’s a gorgeous day here…I’m going to spend most of it at our lake club.

then watercolor class tonight.

Beautiful day here, too. We picked up a trailer of pavers/edgers from Lowe’s yesterday so I spent the morning building up a surround of curved edgers around our galvanized firepit ring and setting pavers to create a 36” barrier ring between the pea stones that encircle the fire pit from the weeds that constitute the cabin “lawn.” After I finish my lunch, I’ll use the rest of the pavers to edge our pea stone walkway and finally get all my herb pots planted. There is definitely an arctic martini in my future this evening.

Yay, Eagle Creek saw the picture and complaint I sent yesterday and are re-sending a clip that is wide enough to accommodate the wider strap which I mentioned when I ordered the replacement parts! As I just sent them the email with the photo yesterday, that’s quite responsive and they aren’t asking me to send back the wrong part they sent me or to pay again for the correct part!

I got home yesterday from our other place, unpacked, and relaxed.

Today was the usual puzzles and coffee, followed by a good workout at the Y. I’m trying some incline walking followed by sloooow running. I see my PCP next week and am hoping I haven’t put on too much weight in the past 6 months.

Trader Joe’s shopping and then I hit up Costco. Neither place was all that crowded for some unknown reason; I’ll take it.

A salad topped with some rotisserie chicken and a glass of white will be dinner. Yay summer!

Woke up early and went to get bloodwork done in advance of a Friday dermatologist appointment, then worked out. I am now a week past my second cataract surgery so am looking forward to adding back in heavier weights!

I met a friend for lunch, and we sat there for five hours! I have several friend with whom I can sit for hours, but this isn’t one of the usual suspects. Our boys have been friends since they were 7 or so, and her son is about to get married this year or next. Lots of complicating factors. He’ll be the first of the tight foursome getting married. I’m really happy for him.

Oh, and I spent some time considering fixing a credit card snafu. I had signed up last week for a draft from the bank for today for a payment of the statement balance of about $750. Last night, I checked on it and decided to pay the current balance instead so I clicked on the edit payment button. I changed the amount to the current balance of $1,300. This morning, I checked to make sure it had cleared, and they took both amounts! Thankfully, there was plenty of money in there. It’s a credit card we use a lot so I decided to just leave it be. Maybe I’ll avoid a balance next month!

Went to Costco this morning with a friend. (She’s 89 and I don’t think she likes driving there anymore.) Then, this afternoon, I’m going to Costco with another friend. We’re shopping for an event our organization is holding this Saturday. I decided it was easier to do two separate trips than try to separate things into two different piles during checkout.

And then later I’ll take the dog to the woods.

It’s pouring here today and we are under a flood watch. I’m recovering from hosting a house full so I’m excited to stay in catching up on shows and reading.

I did get in my work out this morning and did some clean up but the rest of the day is R&R!

Walked over to Trader Joe’s with H to get the new canvas bags. Longest line I’ve ever seen here. GD will have these striped ones to add to her mini bag collection!

Weather app showed today to be the last dry, sunny day before a week of rain (which I love), so we ditched cabin work and spent the day in Rockland at the Farnsworth Museum looking at the Wyeths and then headed over to the Maine Lighthouse Museum to read about lighthouse history, look at the evolution of lenses and other lighthouse paraphernalia, learn about the history of the keepers and Coast Guard in Maine, and dream of living in one. To top it off, we enjoyed a decadent late lunch of champagne, oysters, and lobster at a place on the pier. We’re back home now, very tired, and will sleep well tonight.

They were standing in line at my local store - a couple of hours before the bags were available. if I happen to be in the store when I see them, I’ll grab another for my husband. He found that the one I used to hold his extra Christmas stocking stuff worked really well as a bag for tools and things he’s dragging from the garage to the garden or dock. But no standing in a line for one.

Going to the artisans guild to manage the gallery this morning. Then, making corn chowder for dinner.

I have to go fill my gas tank today, and I hear the prices are down a bit…I’ll let you know. I might get ice cream along the way!

I’m hoping for a boring day. This week has not been fun at work. I did get the A/C people to come over and do a good look over/servicing. It’s been a few years. But that’s not today. Please let today just be a dull day at work. Then I will do a little cleaning and fast food Thursday for dinner. We head out of town tomorrow, so that will be fun.

And no work out day - slept in until 4:45 lol… Did some German work and played piano and washed a load of laundry.

It’s a rainy day here in the woods. Enjoying a cocoa coffee while the sheets are washing. It’s cleaning day. I’ve opened all the windows so I can enjoy the smell of wet pine-drenched air while I work to keep this small cabin ship-shape. Later, I’ll go down to the small grocery store by the lake to pick up some things for dinner. I’m looking forward to cocktail hour on the porch while DH grills and the rain falls softly around us.
