What are you doing today?

Maybe.

I did just eat a good dinner.

Ankle slowly recovering and miniature house slowly advancing. Otherwise not doing much other than reading, scrolling and playing games on the iPad, and keeping leg elevated!

Feel better @VeryHappy .

And speaking of gastronomic issues, our local supermarket’s bakery gives this carrot cake away for free on your birthday, and another local bakery gives a large slice of cake. So rich and so good.

Nice quiet day at the lake. I decided to do some painting there…I knew most of my friends would be coming tomorrow. It was nice and quiet. I then went to our terrific farm market and had a soft serve vanilla ice cream. It was terrific!

Having a bout BPPV this week. The dizziness has slightly improved since earlier in the week, when it took 5 minutes for the twirling to stop whenever I got out of bed, stood up quickly, leaned over or made any sudden change of head position.

I’m considering performing the Epley Maneuver to see if it helps. Sometime it does; sometimes it makes it worse. It’s been about 3 years since I last had a bout of BPPV so I’ll need to watch a You Tube video to refresh my memory on how to do the Epley before I try it.

Chocolate cake…

In heaven, I will have long, luxurious hair, and I will eat chocolate cake and drink chocolate malteds without consequences.

Thanks, @jym626. I will probably dream of chocolate cake tonight.

(Carrot cake is evil and no one should be forced to eat it.)

That’s funny! I’m going to make chocolate muffins today…they are actually chocolate chocolate as they have cocoa and chocolate chips in them.

I will practice a piano part for a rehearsal tomorrow night. Let’s just say…I need a lot of work.

Spending the afternoon and having dinner at the lake. Supposed to be a gorgeous day!

Gotta disagree about carrot cake. Great stuff. Angel food cake is nasty but carrot cake is yum.

Angel food cake is awesome when you put sweetened, gooey, liquidy strawberries on top.

I don’t eat anything that looks and tastes like a sponge. Blech.

Do we need a cake thread?

We had a successful xfinity tech visit! A defunct amplifier or something was the main issue. He updated everything and everything works. Yay! And he arrived promptly at 8am.

And while he was doing that, I decided to clean out older S’ closet a little which resulted in also going through some of the linen closet. Now I have a car load of stuff to trash or donate. Yesterday while H was gone I had the motivation to (finally!) degunk all of the kitchen hardware and cabinets. It’s been ages since I’ve done anything other than basic cleaning, so it feels good to do something.

Rest of the day is just the usual Sunday. Still have laundry and bathrooms - neither are terrible. And Walmart. And we will run to goodwill to drop stuff off.

5:40 AM. Woke up to the sound of grand dog throwing up. He grabbed an oven mitt off of the counter last evening and chewed 2 fingers off of it. The good news is that’s out of him now!

Had plans for a long dog walk and then yoga this morning but it is pouring and there’s thunder. Dog is upset about the thunder. I gave him his meds but they haven’t kicked in yet.

I decided to use my time wisely and clean upstairs, update some financial stuff and put some items on Buy Nothing.

I’ll walk the dog when this storm passes, do some reading and start a jigsaw puzzle.

My neighbors help me a lot. When I get a craving, I bake, keep one portion for myself and give them the rest. I think I need to make another batch today.

Until then, I am sitting on the porch, in the rain, knitting.

Kneading bread dough today for baking in the morning. Planning each day’s meals and activities for next week while our son and his wife are visiting. They arrive Friday. Can’t wait!

Putting my house back in order after departure of my house guests this morning. Such a great family. Now I have more people to visit in Europe, and in Peru from where husband’s family comes.

I had a productive day planned but unfortunately had several visits to the bathroom last night with some kind of digestive issue. Dh made a delicious pesto chicken pasta dish for dinner last night but he was fine. A little exhausted from all the sleep interruption so I’m taking it easy this morning.

I really need to go get a pedicure and today is my only day to do it before the holiday weekend (we are headed to beach for that). Hopefully I can get motivated.

I also was gifted six peony plants last night from a friend who has a wholesale gardening/plant business. She had been running a popup plant sale outside my work for the last two months. It’s over now so when I left work last night she was offering for free anything left. I don’t even know if I have room for six of them but she insisted I take them all. I have to get them planted today, esp with the heat dome coming this week. I need to muster up some energy.

S23 surprised me coming home this weekend. Dh is smoking a pork butt all day and S25’s girlfriend is joining us for dinner. Rare having both boys here at the same time. We’ll have local corn on the cob and dh’s yummy potato salad as well.

I love peonies. I have only two that I planted last year just to see if they could survive my lack of gardening skills. They must be pretty hardy because they survived the winter and produced a few lovely blooms which are now in a vase. I guess I should have added “stripped my peony plants this morning” to my post upthread.
