Got a great night of sleep. Did the NYT puzzles and started to work out with my trainer but switched to my own workout halfway through. Talked to a couple of medical entities, including my dermatologist, who says I’m now negative for TB. 
Ended up driving north to his office to get a free sample of my expensive specialty drug. Long story. Came home and did some financial things while watching SEC media days online. Only 44 days until kickoff!

I went to Comic-Con and walked over four miles on my ankle with the non-specific injury. I wore compression socks and used the dandy collapsible cane. I got the ADA sticker, which got me into a couple of panels (albeit with a half hour wait for each) that otherwise would have been impossible. One was for a franchise that my son likes and had what was arguably the best swag bag of Comic-Con, so I now have his birthday present 
.
Otherwise I discovered that it was considerably harder to walk the exhibit hall. I did easily get into Producers on Producing, which included the producers for Deadpool, The Martian, and The Quiet, among others. They had some good stories to tell. I wanted to go to Directors on Directing, but it was in Hall H which would have added perhaps another mile of walking. Both my feet hurt about the same as they normally would after such a day.
And as a bonus, I got several compliments on my Regency aka Bridgerton gown, which I’ve now worn to three Cons.

Had a nice talk with a radio host. She’s going to interview me about my nonprofit in early August, so I can tell people about our support group as well as our upcoming 20th Anniversary Education Day in September. She seems very personable so it should be a fun 30 minutes.
I also spent time updating the dated contact list we have from 2014 and 2024. Many of the people on it have switched jobs and some of the owners have sold to other owners, etc. Tomorrow, I will call and see whether my press releases that I emailed out were received and if anyone has any questions.

Our son was a presenter at AvengerCon (hacking conference). He (purposely?) told us about it too late or we might have shown up in our Secret Squirrel costumes. Kudos to you for getting into the spirit of the conference with your costume in spite of your foot. Pics of your gown?
I’m hanging around the cabin today as my Canadian passport is supposed to be delivered and requires my signature.

Your son is much smarter than mine. Mine told me he would likely be presenting at a conference next year - one that I thought I might be eligible to attend. He said he thought not. I checked. I AM eligible, so 8am the next morning I had the papers in hand and gave them to my boss and asked to go. I haven’t asked to do anything special in over 20 years. He said yes. I told S I’m going to bring a big helium balloon that says “I’m his Mommy!” He was not amused.

I’m only working until 11 today then going to a goodbye lunch for a coworker. When I get home I will finish packing for Bermuda. Our flight to Newark leaves at 10:30 pm from San Diego then we get the Bermuda flight tomorrow morning. Tomorrow afternoon I will be cuddling our GD for the next 11 days!
H went downtown yesterday to go to the Padres store to pick up some things for our nephew in Bermuda. Afterwards he walked around to see all of the outside the convention center stuff for Comic Con. He ended up seeing Johnny Depp who was dressed as Scrooge promoting his new movie.

We’ve been in the most awesome rain-overcast cycle. Wednesday’s morning run in the 82* muck was gross, but then the rain hit. We need the rain badly, and I will take dark stormy days over blazing hot and humid sun any day. But one note… I moved into my office in late spring. Yesterday it got so dark in the late morning, it was almost like nighttime. I noticed that you can see RIGHT into all the offices on the side of my building. If I can see them plain as day, they can see me. Made a mental note of things not to do in my office unless I close the blinds.
This morning - I got to run at 5am in 70 with a dewpoint 64. It felt much better, except for my toenail that poked a hole into the neighboring toe. Lifting went well. Work should be (crossing fingers) blessedly easy. The boss is away. I made have gone for a longer walk during my break. Tonight will be waffles for dinner and then to Target and then some kind of movie TBD.

In commiseration with @BunsenBurner’s post on the Say it Here thread, “Curse you, FedEx!” I will spare you all the drama of trying to get possession of my nomadic passport, but the FedEx website/text messaging system needs a major overhaul. Let’s just say that after texting me two days in a row that my passport was out for delivery, they meant delivery to the FedEx hub in Portland, and the customer support rep explained that I’d have to drive out there to pick it up(!). I confirmed that the package is indeed sitting in Portland available for pickup, and now I have to drive an hour-and-a-half round trip to get it. 
The things I’ll do to avoid the embarrassment of being American…

Took my dog to the vet for snorting and wheezing that of course did not happen once he was there. He was examined by a vet school student and the vet while being also held and petted by the vet tech. All young women (he’s not fond of men except H and Ss). He was in heaven. They didn’t find anything wrong with lungs, nose, etc. but gave an antihistamine in case cold or allergy. If it hadn’t been a Friday I would have waited, but if it got worse over the weekend the emergency vet is even more $$.

How long did it take you to do this? We are in process but it’s taking a while just to gather documentation (back to a great-grandparent in our case). Wondering once you submitted how long it took? Did you do it all yourself or hire someone?
I did it all myself as I had all the required documentation (dad was born in Canada), so the application was straightforward. However, from the day I dropped it off at the post office, it took the Canadian government 17 months to process and return my citizenship papers — with NO communication in between and no way to check on it other than seeing an “in progress” message on the website.
The passport was more complicated as it required a guarantor currently living in Canada to vouch for me and sign various parts of my application. It has taken two months for the government to process the passport, but now FedEx is complicating the delivery.
