What are you doing today?

We’ll be staying indoors – we have 14” of snow already and it’s still coming down. Activities TBD.

Zumba this morning. Gathering more tax papers today for turbo tax. Unboxing a mini microphone to use as a new you tuber. I’m still studying it as a hobby. I had thought of writing a book but, I think I’m better at talking. And daily brisk walk when the UV index is below 4.

Care to share what your area of YouTubing is? You don’t have to reveal anything but just wondered what your “hobby” area is to present about.

I’m doing my usual Monday laundry. Got my exercise in. I have a facial later this morning and will babysit one of the local grandkids. His nanny is sick today so I’ll help out this afternoon. I haven’t seen him in a few weeks so I’m looking forward to that.
Also planning a quick trip fo a few weeks from now. Booked the plane tickets.

Chore day for me (bleh but I like to get it over with at the beginning of the week), a long walk (brrrr), and now resting trying to ward off H’s cold.

Well that is my dilemma. My understanding is the hobby area means you do not make money on you tube. The hobby is having a youtube channel. I think I’m going to have to leave it open for options- retirement, outdoors, cooking, investing, and therapy dogs. So much interests. Would like to see which area would get more traffic. I have an instagram account and post regularly. That seems to get the most in outdoor travel and hiking.

Nothing exciting here, but I’m sleepier than usual. I guess the weekend travels are catching up with me. Was up the typical early Monday time (3:15) to go workout when H opened, but that’s not unusual.

Just put in a request for our building to change the water fountain filter after the water disaster last week. It’s recommended after the advisory was lifted and our filter button turned orange… I did fill up my water bottle this afternoon, so hopefully there’s nothing too terrible in it. I splurged on extra Diet Cokes this morning, to help wake up and maybe to let others be the guinea pigs and get their water first…

My work day has not been exciting. It has been long…

Snowfall was mostly a bust for us - we got a few inches of very wet snow that mostly didn’t stick to roads. Trees were covered and looked beautiful but the wind blew it all off this morning. I was able to easily brush it off our cars this morning after taking my dog out for a quick walk.

D21 Facetimed me from Rome this morning to update me on her trip to Sardinia this past weekend where she met my extended family of cousins. She had a great trip despite the language barrier. She had some funny stories to tell!

After that, S23 and I went to meet my parents for lunch. I showed my father all the photos D21 sent me of her with all his/our cousins. He was excited she got to meet them. His father/my grandfather was the only one of eight children to leave their village in Sardinia for the US back in the early 1900s. He never went back home to visit Sardinia, but my father, uncle, me/dh and now D21 have all visited at separate times. Amazing how warmly they welcome people who are essentially strangers!

Came home, renewed car registration online, did some laundry and now I’m about to read my book club selection.

Helped H sent text to daughter of his friend about lunch tomorrow (friend’s short term memory is non-existent). Sent my friend (who has dementia) a text to try to set up a lunch with her tomorrow as well. I don’t see her that often as it’s a drive to get to her place and she doesn’t answer phone that often these days.

Amended & sent out minutes from my board meeting—grateful secretary took them. Have executive committee zoom meeting soon. Maybe will go out for lunch or have something simple at home. Will bring tbones to niece to grill at their place for dinner and maybe cuddle with their new baby.

Experimenting with keto baked goods. The blueberry muffins look the same as my regular muffins, will taste later when they cool to see how edible. The lemon shortbread cookie dough is chilling in the fridge to bake later this afternoon. DH has GOT to cut back on carbs, so I hope these pass.

Otherwise, just another lovely sunny day here in the desert, nothing special going on.

Coffee, then off to the Y for a sloooow walk on the treadmill. Listened to a book and perused Bluesky at the same time. Restrictions are lifted on Wednesday, so I’ll be starting to increase my pace to pre-surgery levels.

A nice conversation with H about his Dr appointment this morning.

Costco for a prescription pickup and whatever jumps into my cart when I’m not looking, then off to pick up some pre-purchased wine from a tasting room and try a few out.

Thanks for the laugh, @zeebamom. I always seem to get the cart with the wheels trained on the ice cream aisle.

Feeling much better today and it was nice to get out. Went to yoga and dance classes, stopped by and picked up a few groceries. Did my library drop off and pick up, one load of laundry and worked on a new puzzle.
S turns 30 today! And he’s my baby.

I must say, I’m impressed with both the muffins and the cookies — both definitely pass the taste test.* Unfortunately, keto does not mean no carbs, just low carb. The blueberry muffins have 217 calories and 3g net carbs apiece, and the shortbread cookies have 192 calories and 2g net carbs each:

I would actually deem these guest-worthy. DH is very happy with them.

*Note that I added 1/4 teaspoon of xanthum gum per 1 cup of almond flour to each recipe to enhance structure and texture improving the “crumb” of both recipes.

My, you’ve all been so active today! We have 16 inches of heavy, wet snow in our driveway, so we have not gone anywhere!! Our guys will come plow and shovel overnight and then tomorrow should be back to normal. :crossed_fingers:

So today I did laundry, unrolled and trimmed a new rug pad (dog destroyed the old one), napped, and continued completely my NOKBox. (NOK = Next of Kin) My son asked me recently, “What do I do when you or Dad dies?” so I feel like I kind of owe this to him. I’m feeling very grown-up putting this all together!

I’m also arguing with my printer that doesn’t feel like printing. I suspect he has to do with our having lost internet and my setting up a new router yesterday. I’m not worried; it always kicks in eventually.

@VeryHappy completing the NOK box is one of the most important things to you can do and a gift to your family. Kudos for working in that.

My ICE/NOK folder is a work in progress. I have done much of it but keep updating as needed.

While at niece’s, saw grandniece and my brother struggle to help her take off a Bluey outfit she just got and LOVES but it’s slightly too snug to easily go over her head. I brought it home and enlarged the space for her head to get in & out of the garment. Fortunately, I have all the needed tools handy and I’m hoping it will be much more comfortable for grandniece, as she’s a HUGE Bluey fan!

I bought this outfit at Costco for my granddaughter who is a huge bluey fan also.

I just realized that it might be too warm for Hawaii! She was thrilled
