What are you doing today?

And can you believe it was 6 years ago today that the global pandemic was declared. It seems like a long time ago in some respects and sometimes it seems like just yesterday!

Got an amazing 96 as my sleep score, even though the rain woke me up this morning about 6. About to work out and at 1 I’m suppoed to meet an acquaintance group for lunch. They picked the same place they picked last time that I passed on, but I’m showing up this time and maybe can change the location for the next time.

We were busy taking advantage of the good weather here and got a fair amount of yard work/gardening done the past few days. Yesterday I got my hair cut and H and I tried to get my passport photo done for the online renewal. None of our photos were acceptable, so I finally ran out to the photo place and they got it instantly. Did the online renewal. Lengthy call with D, then out for Chinese food and replacement dog toys. Now to what I’m actually doing today - I had Pilates and H is out doing some errands. I’m going to do some sorting and discarding today.

Let’s see. Overnight, I had a major AutoCAD failure and ended up reinstalling the program and resetting all my options. I went to bed about 4 am.

Then this morning, I called my son’s new Part D drug coverage insurer to check on a reimbursement claim for an Rx he paid for out of pocket (it’s a new plan and he didn’t have the drug card yet). They insisted he had a deductible of $615. I knew that wasn’t right since he’s on Medicaid. It LITERALLY took me an hour and a half (a lot of it on hold) for them to agree with me. It’s almost comical - they have a script to go by, and they just keep repeating the same words, even when they obviously don’t apply. The woman wouldn’t transfer me to a supervisor.

Then I asked what we need to do to get my son’s very expensive med (about $28,000 every six months) pre-authorized, and apparently the doctor needs to call them and submit documentation. Oh, he’s going to be thrilled… :frowning:

I’m about at my breaking point, sigh.

Several of the gals in my stitching group were busy today, so we cancelled. DH is out with his buddies all day, so I’ll get to eat some things he can’t have. Will spend the rest of the day finishing up the laundry and top-grouting/sealing the MB shower.

I’ve been at a yoga retreat in Mexico for a few days. Most of us get up early and head across the street to the beach to watch the sun rise. Morning yoga session then breakfast ( food here is fantastic- all vegan, which is not my usual). Had a massage and facial and am now relaxing by the pool.

Not my normal life, but life in paradise for a week.

I am so jealous of this trip! Are you there with people you already practiced with or are you making new friends?

That’s weird about the AutoCAD failure. Our AutoCAD was acting terrible yesterday too. I couldn’t get anything to open, unless I double clicked it in Window Explorer, and then it would crash a few commands later. My co-worker was similar. Rebooting helped mine. I don’t think it helped his though. I figured it was some kind of weird Windows update that messed it up?

I also had similar off/on issues with it last year, but I was on an older version. They wound up having to upgrade me to the second to newest version. The newest wouldn’t install properly either!

Both. My sister and I are here together and the group leader is a yoga teacher/ friend from several years ago. There are two people in our group who were here last time with us. We got lucky again as everyone in the group is great.

UPDATE: I really enjoyed this lunch place and won’t try to talk them out of it if they choose it again. Ends up being a little more than I want to spend, but the food was tastier than than the last time I was there. And one of the group is moving in a few months so there’s not a lot of time left with her so I hate to miss a monthly lunch. It’s just a funny group dynamic for me.

What part of Mexico? It looks beautiful and I’m thinking of taking my daughter on a trip like that for her graduation.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Doggos deserve to live forever!

I’ve had a cold for the past couple of days, so I slept in. Feeling much better as a result.

This afternoon I’m getting my hair cut and some foils. I’m gradually going gray, so she does something with the color so the gray doesn’t stand out as much. It’s a very slow process.

In the old days, AutoCAD was very unstable, and then it seemed like it was decent for many years. The last three years or so, it’s been a pain. This is the message I keep getting: “All of the possible directories for storing temporary files either do not exist or are readonly. Please correct this situation before running AutoCAD again.” It’s not a matter of deleting temporary files, I tried that. Ugh. I’ve tried all the suggestions I’ve found on the internet and from ChatGPT. Lately, I can open one file, but not a second. And that’s a problem, because I need more than one file open at a time.

Ugh! Now that one I haven’t seen. And reinstalling is such a pain because it takes half a day (or more) to set it back up like you want it!

I got a FATAL ERROR tonight. I thought those were long gone. :frowning: I’m not impressed. I’ve had AutoCAD 2025 for awhile now, so I don’t know what’s up. My .ctb files got wiped out, but I found them in a zip folder I sent my client when he needed to plot my drawings. I used to save them in a desktop folder, but I hadn’t needed to restore them in many years, so I got lazy. Back to being vigilant, I guess.

This is why DH has moved to OnShape; AutoCAD became too clunky and unreliable, and he was able to import his AC files to OnShape (3-D, cloud based).

About to work out, have a Zoom at 1, an eye appt at 2:40 and then early dinner out with dh.

I’m taking dh with me to the eye appt to take notes. I am thinking this doc will recommend cataract surgery. I have noticed a drop in my eyesight to the point that I don’t drive at night anymore.

It went from 87* yesterday to 70* when I woke up to sleet & snow by lunchtime!

I took a couple of hours off this morning to extend my lunch break, for “me time.” It’s been s few months since I’ve been able to do this, and it was glorious. Played piano for an hour and then took a longer nap. Didn’t want to come back, but H is home, thus no more me time… and a guy came to measure some windows in the sunroom. We are swapping our blinds for shutters and repainting.

other than that, the usual. Chick Fil A for dinner I believe. The one at the mall, so we can sit in our food court. I hate sitting in the stand alone one. It’s crowded, chaotic, and all of the employees there creepy me out. The food court, I’d be surprised if more than one other table was taken. There’s only a cookie store left and Chick Fil A has their own space outside the court. H refuses to take food home.
