What are you doing today?

I am off to Express Care for them to take a look at a little wound that I likely picked up at a hot tub or pool in New Zealand last month. Some improvement using cream prescribed during video visit a week ago but progress has stalled. I really do not want to start doxycycline (not a fan of strong antibiotics) but suspect that’s the next step.

At least I got through all the taxes yesterday!

Good news: Junk guys came and cleared a lot of old never to be used stuff out of the basement. It took a long time amd some loud words to convince (hoarder) DH to do this.

Bad news: H now wants to turn into a huge project. (But I will be happy when its eventually done.)

SMH at the ten-day forecast. In all our 27 years in AZ, I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen these temps in March. I will begin to hibernate today and count the days until we leave for Maine (where the high in the next week is 54).

Other than that, just our usual Thursday cleaning routine.

Went to lunch with friends. One friend I don’t see much and we had a really nice conversation.

Went for a walk. Now I’m relaxing like the retired princess that I am.

Leftovers for dinner.

Wondering what this weekends weather will bring? A foot of snow? Ice storm? Something in between? Who knows?

I’ll be in AZ to “enjoy” those 100 degree days…oh boy.

Today I met a friend for an extended brunch. Very nice and relaxing. Temps have dropped about 30 degrees from yesterday.

I was happy to get gas for $3.05 per gallon (BJs with their credit card..regular price was $3.20 but even that isn’t as horrible as I expected).

Some spitting snow outside and windy…but it’s March!

Yay, no infection, just keep using the ointment. And free validated parking! I was in such a good mood, I took the scenic route home along the harborfront past the USS Midway, Maritime Museum, and along the top of San Diego Bay. It really is a lovely city on a nice day.

Well, I was correct … having cararact surgery. Four months ago, my right eye was worse, but now my left eye is by far the worse one. He said my numbers almost doubled. I knew that I wasn’t imagining things.

When it’s time to have surgery, it’s time. There’s supposed to be an ideal time—bad enough but not TOO bad or the lens is difficult to remove properly & easily. That was how it was explained to H from ophthamologist.

Today I will go to the gym, make an icebox cake for an event I’m attending tomorrow, go to the library to drop off and pick up, and do laundry. Easy chicken recipe for dinner. My kind of day.

I’ve already had a NAMI committee meeting on Zoom. In a little while I will be going to the mall to purchase a bra that doesn’t show under my wedding attendant’s dress. I also need to buy silver shoes. I sure hope I can find something because I don’t like ordering shoes online. Need to work a lot of hours when I get home.

I still get Fatal Error with Civil 3D every once in a while. Seemingly no real reason. I have been told that 2026 is more stable than 2025, but we shall see. I am pretty much self-taught and some aspects are so very frustrating! Hope it works better for you today.

Starting a new sourdough loaf this morning. Going over to my mom’s later so DH can do her taxes. I will measure her back windows for new sunscreens because the evil yellow ball ate her old ones last summer. Then, we’ll take her out to lunch. Nothing else going on today.

Prepping to return to my mom’s, DH is gonna work some this weekend to make up for the hours he will miss doing that. Darned a pair of slippers, badly, but that’s fine. Might be reduced to actually cleaning the floors. Started a book about 1670’s New England. Exercised first thing so I couldn’t invent reasons not to, still hated it. Lol.

I am walking on the beach!!! :palm_tree::palm_tree::palm_tree:

My last full day in paradise. Did not go to the beach to see the sun rise as we had dinner on our own last night and my sister and I had a few drinks and I ate steak ( alcohol and meat prohibited here in the yoga house).

Yoga session this morning. I’m currently sitting by the pool .

So a blizzard is supposed to hit my city tomorrow into Sunday. If my flight is canceled or it looks like there is significant snow tomorrow evening and I can’t get an Uber home from the airport, I plan to fly to LA with my sister and stay at her house for a few days. I’m secretly hoping that happens!

I am only working until 11 am today then heading to the beach to walk and have lunch with friends. It is a glorious Southern California day. It will be near 80 degrees for our walk.

Friday is the start of my weekend. Got up and made English muffins that I mixed last night. Exercised and walked the dog though the wind was REALLY picking up. Had an appointment at a local bath wholesale place - that was a good fact finding. My daughter in law came and was such a nice support, love her!
Came home and had some brunch since I didn’t eat earlier (unusual for me) - the wind is so wicked outside I think I may stay in and do some more bathroom planning business, dress a new bed we got and mix up more English muffins since I gave what I made to DIL for helping me out!
Pork chops and planning to use some cabbage and potatoes (there is a name for it but I don’t know it) that you sort of cook on top of the stove slowly till it gets nice and tender and melty good.
If the wind will settle down, I’ll take another walk.

Pic is just a few miles from us from the wind today!

It is snowing here north of the city!! Don’t recall it ever snowing here that late into March! Working from home then will go for a walk and meet good friends for dinner at a restaurant.

Yikes. That looks somewhat similar to the scene on our street yesterday! It took the power company 12 hours to sort the mess out!
