What are you doing today?

It is really windy here today as well. I am hoping no trees end up coming down!
Walked the girls this morning (pre-wind) then went to an extra Pilates class. My Wednesday class is fun and I enjoy the people in it, but I don’t get a lot out of it Pilates-wise. Came home and showered, sorted and threw out a lot of catalogues and paper that I really don’t need. Now trying to decide what to do the rest of the day besides worry. I think I’m going to start a new needlepoint.

(drum roll) I AM MOVING INTO MY NEW OFFICE! Actually, I am typing this from my computer IN MY NEW OFFICE! I’ve gotten about 3/4 of the stuff moved, though lots still to set up. Oh, it’s so nice and quiet.

In a couple of minutes, I have to pick up/try on my MOG dress from the seamstress. And then back to work to finish setting up MY NEW OFFICE!

I think plan B should be plan A!

From someone who is bracing for a big storm this weekend!

Snow here in the convergence zone. We’re surprised it hasn’t stopped. Nothing on the roads, but 1/2” or so in the yard. #2D had snow covering her car at 7:30 and her BF has been stuck on the tarmac at the airport for a couple of hours waiting for a gate to open.

H is out sitting in the hot tub and I’m inside with coffee, coughing up a lung. This is the first real cold I’ve had in 6 years, and it’s really knocked me down. My goal for the day is to stay awake — no sleeping for 4 hours in the afternoon!

The real plan for the day is to do whatever updates are needed on the laptop and then do the taxes. A bit of cleaning and tidying as I think the kids, et al, are coming over tomorrow for dinner.

I’m truly so happy for you. I remember over the years you mentioning being so close in proximity to coworkers that you can catch the mist of their coughs/sneezes and probably hear the chewing of their food, my personal nightmare. I hope you love it!

Son sent this picture from his office (he got moved to Redmond recently).

In other news, back from the ophthalmologist (switched offices because previous doctor passed away). My retinas are stable, my cataracts are entirely my decision when I feel it’s time), but my eyelids are having a mite party, as the prescription brochure says.

Anyone ever dealt with Demodex blepharitis and treated it with xdemvy?

Edit - paging @eyemgh - is this newish treatment good to try? Thx!

@ClassicMom98 my daughter is a project manager. One of her first projects was making dedicated office space. She was so proud of that project and her office mates were very happy!

Today. Got my hair cut and colored. We got 6” or so of very wet, very sloppy snow. It’s just the appetizer for the bigger storm on Sunday into Monday.

Went for a walk in the wet, heavy snow. It’s not cold, I wore my spikes on my boots and got outside.

Changed the bedding on my bed. My mom was really into decorating so I did this in her memory. I like to think that she would have liked it

Next up is to find another bed, this one is so far off the ground it is not great for aging in place.

So sweet in celebration of your mom.

We just bought a low profile bed for one of our guest bedrooms. By the time we added a 12 inch hybrid mattress and all the top stuff - it’s not really that low - not too high but what I mean is that I was concerned it was going to be TOO low. Nope, it’s great.

What we did was remove all slats and internal feet from the bed frame. Put the Tempur foundation on the floor inside the frame, then put our mattress on top of the foundation. A nice low profile bed - ta da :tada:!

Woke up to snow in Seattle this morning outside our hotel window. Got through airport security without much delay, thinking we were on our home stretch towards home. Thirty minutes after arriving we got the dreaded flight has been cancelled! We joined the line to rebook, we had a nice young agent helping but the flights are booked solid and they kept disappearing as we worked through all bad options. We are now leaving 9 hours later and flying to an airport two hours away from our home airport. Will try to get the last airport shuttle bus or will rent a car to drive home. Our car of course is parked at our home airport.

Any favorite coffee place at terminal N at SeaTac airport? @BunsenBurner

We usually grab some grilled cheese at Beecher’s and get our coffee there as well, but we are not coffee connoisseurs!

Thanks we are at the rocking chairs right next to there.
Lots of flights being cancelled.

Lucky to grab a rocking chair; at least that construction is done.

The windstorm wreaked havoc yesterday. There is also a storm in Hawaii apparently. Meaning some planes are grounded, which messes up the schedule! Hope you get home safely and soon!

There is a wine or beer bar somewhere nearby in that terminal, I think…

Update: shortly after I posted here, the airline notified us that we should consider changing our flights as cancellations were likely. S booked me on the same flight as my sister, but I had to wait awhile on hold to get my original flight cancelled. But , I’m going to California for a few days.

The only fly in the ointment: I texted my kids that this was a possibility. Within a few minutes, S texted and offered to help me with the flight changes. I still have yet to receive an acknowledgment from D that she even saw my text , 7 hours and not even a thumbs up? Really? Unless she has had an emergency, I think that’s pretty inexcusable. She is usually on her phone all day, even while working. I’m not too happy about that and we will be having a talk when I get back.

I do believe it’s the one you sent me awhile back, except in navy!

Xdemvy came out after I retired. I understand that it’s pretty effective, reducing the population by up to 80%.

The most important thing though isn’t if you have mites. They are fairly common. The issue is whether or not they cause symptoms, typically red, inflamed lids.

if you are symptom free, ignore them.

If you are symptomatic, use the Xdemvy to reduce the load, replace your makeup, consider a tea tree oil face wash and wash your sheets and pillow cases in hot water weekly.

Best of luck. :eyes:

I feel EXACTLY the same with my daughter, frequently. They don’t understand that it’s rude??
