What are you doing today?

Walked to a local coffee shop for bookclub. Later walked to lunch with D, S and baby GS. D’s good friend joined us for a walk up to and around the lake.

Everyone ( plus SIL and GD) is now at my house. I have a corned beef with veggies in the crockpot for dinner.

A good day but I walked 7 1/2 miles and am tired.

We are having a little euolgy for the weed eater. It works but it’s so old you can’t get replacement line for it anymore. H is out begrudgingly buying a new one.

I’ve done a bunch of cleaning with more to do, and I’ve walked the loop. Wore my weighted vest for the first time in awhile. It is weird. I’m aware it’s on, but I’m not any slower nor do I feel like I’m really working harder with it on.

Then the big Walmart trip and then to see Project Hail Mary. Then to Subway for dinner since I’m not making anything after a 2.5 hour movie.

And stupid me - I didn’t buy le petit prince yesterday. Well I did, but I bought it in German. I didn’t even notice. I read the cover and flipped through it reading a bit and figured it’d be easy enough for me to read. Duh. The other book IS French and maybe I’ll read that before giving it to my sister next month.

Trainer is working us out an hour earlier so everything this morning moved up, including traditional blueberry-almond flour pancakes. YUM!

As mentioned before, at 5 I will be at the women’s March Madness game. Before I go I’ll color my hair and watch more basketball. Right now, my women’s bracket is killing! I’m no. 2, 2 and 4 in pools with hundreds of players. I was first in all of them until Illinois beat Colorado. I’m not sure why I picked Colorado. Harumph.

I’m not much in to sports @Youdon_tsay, but I got a chuckle out of you prioritizing coloring your hair with your passion for the games. I hope your team wins. :woman_bouncing_ball:

In the afternoon, DH helped DS replace a kitchen faucet (a nice upgrade). Last night, we went out for a very nice Italian dinner.

Today, we are enjoying a patio breakfast right now…and will go to the art museum in the heat of the afternoon.

Dinner? Who knows?

We had GD overnight last night - it was D’s birthday, so she & SIL went out. We had a blast with GD, who slept well. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for GD, whose dog had diarrhea. Instead of coming into D/SIL’s bedroom to wake them, she just kept quietly whimpering next to the back door every time she needed to go out. D has mom-ears, so she heard it every time & was the one to get up. (Dog is fine this morning.)

D just left with GD. We played outside for a couple hours before she picked her up. It’s windy, and the Stomp Rockets went in crazy directions today! We’ll walk in a bit & watch basketball. I like reading the paper on Sunday afternoon, so I’ll spend some happy time with the paper & some tea.

At the Braves stadium for “play day”. Can run the bases, sit in the dugout, and play catch on the field. Skipping the bullpen.

The final candidate for our associate pastor position gave the sermon at church. He did a great job. He said, “You can probably tell from the way I speak, I’m deaf.” Wow, I had no idea. He started losing his hearing when he was 9. He got a cochlear implant a few years ago and gets by pretty well.

Best part - he’s a Texan. He, his wife, and their three young kids live in Houston. His wife lived in my hometown, Austin, when she was young. He hates heat like I do, which is a good thing when you move to Maine. We had to move the meeting earlier than planned because of the forecast snow. It snowed all during the service and our meeting afterwards. We voted to hire him, and he accepted! I told him I’ll have them over for dinner and I an give him some insights as to what it’s like to be a Texan living in Maine.

Sleeping in on the weekend for me means MAYBE sleeping to 7am - by choice - I love mornings and choose to set my alarm to somewhere between 6:30-7:15 on the weekends. Per usual, indoor exercise and outdoor pup walk.

Met a friend for coffee at a fun place I’ve been wanting to take her. She has had a bit of a rough go with her husband’s health and she appreciates something like a coffee time together SO much. A local greenhouse has incorporated a coffee shop into the greenhouse space. You can go 12 months of year (best when it’s not too warm, cause, greenhouse) and it is SUCH a refreshing place to be! All the greenery and colors of the houseplants, plants/gifts, and this time of year, hanging baskets not yet ready for purchase but colorful none the less. They have string lights and light music and it’s SO pleasant. We sat there and chatted for 2.5 hours.
Stop at Aldi afterwards and grabbed what I needed for the week. Grabbed some shaved beef (uncoooked) that I will make into like a Philly steak sandwich for dinner tonight with some home fries and fresh asparagus.

About to go out and fiddle out in the yard for a bit and then take another walk before rain sets in this evening. I’ll also do a little product shopping online for a couple of things I’m pondering and start thinking about an Easter menu.

It was bright and sunny here this morning - dh and S25 left to play golf. I was about to head out for a walk with my dog when I glanced outside and saw it had gotten tremendously foggy! I decided to wait for it to dissipate and spent the morning working on our itinerary for our upcoming trip to Puglia.

By noon the sun was back out, so my dog and I went for an hour walk. It was still a little chilly due to the breeze coming off the bay, but it was so nice to be out in the sun. Came home and made lunch, then did some cleaning.

I’m trying to put together a capsule wardrobe for our trip as we both plan to do carry on only. Fortunately the weather should be nice enough that I don’t need bulky clothes. I’ve been doing some online shopping so just spent an hour trying everything on and putting some outfits together. My favorite purchase is a pair of linen blend pants that have structure (meaning they don’t have an elastic waistband but rather have a button/zipper closure).

Relaxing now and hopefully will finish the book I’ve been reading.

Did my usual two-hour perusal of all the web sites I frequent, including email. Went to the gym. Went grocery shopping. Soon I’ll shower, then prepare the potatoes au gratin I’m serving to our neighbors tonight, plus chicken tenders. (Our neighbor has a nine-year-old.)

Last night I started rereading Still Alice. I’ll finish it tonight before bed.

S and I went for coffee and breakfast ( for him, I had already eaten) at a nearby place that opened recently. I hadn’t been there before.
My big win today ( besides spending time with S) was cleaning the lower glass shelf on my fridge. It takes two sets of hands and we had to pull up a you tube video to see how to take it apart. But it’s nice to have it clean.

Last night’s party was a big success. I remained pleasantly extroverted right to the end. Best part is the leftovers that will provide easy meals the rest of the week. Lunch today: Shrimp ceviche with cilantro-lime slaw.

Our S and his family come often for lunch on Sundays when available , then indoor or outdoor activities based on the weather. We just finished and exhausting afternoon of wiffleball, and kickball. D was visiting from Boston , made the day even better!

Good job staying extroverted! If we stay with friends over a weekend, I have to disappear after awhile and not talk to anyone.

Wow – what a lovely respite (your company and a greenhouse with coffee) for your friend! Would be a perfect workspace for some of us! :herb: :hot_beverage: :busts_in_silhouette:

Today my cleaners come, and I usually leave the house when that happens. Today however I’m expecting two important deliveries so I need to stay home. I’ll hide upstairs while they clean downstairs, and vice versa.

Up early for pickleball (7am to 9am, indoor). Each time I do this, I think “what have I done?” when I need to get up… but have never regretted the decision once on the court. Later I may be helping an elderly neighbor who just put her house on the market. She has not liked my reminders that she will have to give away A LOT of stuff in order to downsize to the next TBD place (probably senior apartment).

I’ll be watching women’s bball all day while doing the usual.

Had a GREAT time at March Madness yesterday. Crowd was on fire, game ended up being a blowout in my favor, last game at home for our wonderful seniors and our All-American scored a personal and tournament high of 40 points! Can’t wait for FW and the Sweet Sixteen on Saturday.
