How’s your voice this morning, @Youdon_tsay? I’m betting you weren’t sitting still. ![]()
Surprisingly well! Better than after the two games on Friday.
I laughed. I cried. I cheered and cheered. Sports are such a large part of my life, clearly, and March Madness is the best time of year.
Tonight I’m going to an exhibition game between the Cleveland Guardians and the diamondbacks. I’m so excited! I’m really wanted a Cleveland baseball cap, but the swag shop closes two hours before the game starts. Does that make any sense?
This morning, we are walking to the neighborhood coffee shop/bakery. I mean…why not??
Made H come to Trader Joe’s with me this morning for the large lavender canvas bags. Had to get both D1 and D2 bags since they are together in CT. D2 is usually the one that comes with me to get bags. H had to stand in for her![]()
I had my cardiologist visit this morning. I left the house a little after 6am to get there, as I wasn’t sure what rush hour would be like. It wasn’t a big deal and I was there 25 min early, lol. I still would probably leave that early, as you never know what could happen between there and here.
I wouldn’t say I know anything more, but I REALLY liked the doctor and the facility. I showed up early, they took me immediately back and I saw the doctor in about 15 min, as he was talking to someone in the next room. And then the doctor talked to me for about 30 minutes. This NEVER EVER EVER happens at facilities in my town. I really, really liked him. Long story short, we won’t know what’s really going on until I have a stress test/heart ultrasound and the results of my heart monitor. He told me that almost everyone gets a rash. I do hope it eventually goes away and isn’t going to be a scar. It still looks pretty nasty a week later.
The follow-up tests are May 1 - at 7:30 up there. At first I was like “uhh.. is the stress test going to be now?” I had already done my workout! I got up at 3am so I could run for an extra 15 minutes before the gym opened. I did an 1:10 of cardio stuff total before heading home and to the doctor. He said I could keep doing what I have been doing, and was also glad I did somewhat normal weeks that could be captured on the monitor. I warned him if he saw super high numbers early in the morning, that was just me working out!
The doctor was highly complimentary of me getting to the doctor ASAP when it happened and capturing what went on on the EKG. He said most people wait it out, and then it goes away and they never really know what happened. Because by the time the health clinic sent me to the ER, it was already back to normal. I told him that I hate going to doctors, and resist going to doctors, but even I don’t mess around with hearts. A knee? Foot? Eh. I’ve got two of those. I only have one heart and it’s pretty important!
Edit - and then I came home and planned to have a couple of hours to myself to play piano/chill/get stuff done. I did some Duolingo and got sleepy and closed my eyes… woke up over 2 hours later! Oops. Back at work now.
Plenty of room there for more! ![]()
Still debating if I need several of the ones I kept. I only have two feet.
What size![]()
This morning I got a text from my DS at 7:34 am asking if I was available to take grandchild to a special therapy program he is doing. The first session was at 8 am. I’m in my pajamas, having my first cup of coffee and not yet showered or eaten. Of course I say yes. I made it in record time, picked him up and we were just 10 minutes late. This is a three week intensive PT/OT program and I was impressed with his therapists. This is the start of week three and I can see improvement.
Did some grocery shopping.
Filled a claim with Chase for some travel delays. It’s time consuming uploading all the documents but I hope I got everything and will get some reimbursement.
Now need to finally get my shower in.
I don’t know if I’m coming down with something or if I’m just really, really tired today. I worked out this morning and puttered around doing laundry & other chores. It started snowing this afternoon when I was about to walk, so I decided to sit for a few minutes until it stopped. I ended up falling asleep for the whole afternoon, so deeply that I had a very involved (and really weird) dream that made no sense. I just woke up a half hour ago, so I Rip Van Winkled the day. I never do this, so hopefully it was just my body telling me I needed to slow down today.
It’s your body telling you that March is the worst month and that you need it to be over!
Well there’s no basketball for two days so I’ll have to amuse myself in other ways. I’ve already called about a doctor’s appt and will call about another later. DH is working today so I’ll take myself to lunch.
I’m about to do my online workout, but today is special: It’s the sixth anniversary of our workout group. I was working out with this trainer a year earlier, but this particular iteration was started online during Covid. Three times a week for six years at 11 a.m. we either went on YouTube or logged onto Zoom to move together. I’ve only met a few of these people in person, several at the trainer’s wedding two years ago. Sometimes I don’t like the work out and sub in other exercises or walk on the treadmill, say, instead of lifting weights because I did weights the day before, but I like to show up for the group anyway.
Other than that not much going on.
That 6 year virtual fitness commitment of your group is remarkable. Congrats to the trainer and the group!
I went for a walk. It was 26 degrees out at 9:30. Is it ever going to get warm?
Got a call from my mom’s financial advisor. They have divided up mom’s investments.
Filled out paperwork for an insurance company payout. Tried to copy the paperwork so I have a copy. The copier has decided not to work.
Went out for Chinese food.
Asked about buying a new printer. Apparently can’t because we have windows 10. Tried to sell us a new computer
Our UPS store is the best! Made copies for me and didn’t charge me.
Went home, called our other financial advisor. Trying to transfer the money from one FA to another. It’s becoming increasingly complicated in ways I didn’t think about.
Got a prescription filled. At least that was easy.
I wonder if I can buy an iPad and a new printer for that? Since I now can’t print or copy on my old printer. Technology!
If you have a wireless printer you should be able to print from your iPad - or iPhone - as long as you connect the two. (When you go to print on your iPad it will show you if you have any printers currently connected or if you want to connect any. Shouldn’t be hard)
I print on my iPad or phone often to our wireless printer.
The good news is printers can be inexpensive these days!
I print from my IPad. I rarely use my computer anymore.
This morning I went and watched a bit of my grandson’s intensive physical therapy and occupational therapy.
Strength training class with a substitute. The substitute always kicks my butt. Not that it’s harder just different than the regular teacher.
Next up was physical therapy for me.
Now I’m sitting outside enjoying my lunch in the sunshine.
I went to CVS (birthday card for husband) and HomeGoods and since TJMaxx was in the same mall, popped in there too. It’s so freeing that I no longer need to hunt for a dress and shirt - finally found the dress before the trip and the shirt while on it.
At HomeGoods, after checking what seemed like 1000 coffee mugs, I’ve determined the exact shape of the one I broke (which son got as a welcome present from school when starting college and gave to me) does not exist. So I got a new ice cream scoop as a consolation prize.
Then on to Von’s grocery to get bottled seltzer in advance of Passover. Husband didn’t find it at the one he went to so got cans instead. When you’re using in recipes and chocolate egg creams, you want bottles that close tight, not cans! Then to TJ in the same mall where there were no canvas bags which is good because I don’t need one but might have bought one anyway.
After lunch I will go through more photos so I can put something on Facebook as I have no memories of today.
Got my printer to work so I will be able to procrastinate buying something new! ![]()
H & I went to see Project Hail Mary, which we enjoyed. We just got back from a walk, and it will be time to cook dinner soon (salmon). Fortunately, my dead-tired day yesterday was just a fluke - today has been a normal day, and it has flown by.
