My big day is here. I had the 1:30 drive to the hospital and hopefully will be doing my stress tests and ultrasounds and whatever else they do to test hearts. I’m not sure they’ll have to work me too hard to get my HR up - it’s already there.
And yesterday H had his cancer doctor visit 1:20 the other direction. It generally went well. He was so nervous about things. He thought he had swollen lymph nodes, but the doctor said he felt fine. The downer is that we have to go back in 2 months because one blood value was low. The awesome doctor said she’s not worried but we should just check it in 2 months instead of the usual 6.
The other people in the waiting area are probably in their 70s. I hope I last longer on the treadmill than them lol. I haven’t run in 5 weeks but my toe/foot is feeling pretty good.
We are going to meet H’s new, very young internist. She’s in late 20s, early 30s and a classmate of niece-in-law from local med school. The local U is also having a bake sale but parking there is challenging so not sure how to patronize.
I asked a friend who may be volunteering at bake sale if she can buy us a few items & we will pay her back.
Thanks guys! I believe I’ll live another day. Very glad that’s done, but I’ll likely report more in the fitness and health related thread, since it falls more in line with that. But I think I’m all fine. Taking an extra hour or so at home and then will head to work for the rest of the day. I’m surprisingly jittery and my mind is having trouble focusing - and I’ve had ZERO caffeine since yesterday afternoon. Maybe some caffeine will make me calm down, lol. I normally have a bottle at work after lunch, so that’s the plan.
My late FIL always told stories about how he had born in Canada and brought illegally into the US by his parents who neglected to register his birth with US immigration services when they returned to the US after living in Canada for a few years.
Indeed the story is true. He was born in Canada and his WW2 era draft card clearly shows he was a not s US citizen. I think I once saw his naturalization case number–but I have no idea where it might be now that he’s been dead for 20 years. So now I’m trying to track down a copy of his Canadian birth certificate so my daughters can apply for Canadian citizenship under Canada’s new citizenship by descent law.
Husband came home from tennis and suggested going out for lunch for Chicago dogs at a local joint. We came home to discover that Zoe the Zebra took a flyer out of the pool and was chilling on the loungers.
