We say that every time we visit H’s S & BIL!
I hear ya!
Went down to Pike Place early with son - breakfast was croissants etc. Then we walked down to the revitalized waterfront.
The mountain was out today.
The new aquarium wing has an underwater viewing window outside the entrance and we caught a feeding demo.
Great day to be out.
Picked up some Mother’s Day tulips at the Flower Festival.
Lunch at the Chihuly museum bar.
So nothing special, LOL.
My workout this morning is on the fitness thread. Then we drive two hours to hike Crabtree falls. 3.3 miles round trip with 1100 ft elevation gain. Now we are at a German restaurant 30 hour from there - in the wrong direction from home. Long days but fun!
Hoping that’s 30 minutes and not 30
Hours …. Beautiful pics!
Yep! Oops!
@VeryHappy you have had some nice weather for your visit to San Diego. Normally more May gray around, but this week we’ve had some sun.
Ran a 5K, coached 2 games of soccer. Between 5K and games and then after game had quality time with my grandson
Well, 6 hours in ER with H and S, checking out whether H has any bowel obstruction via contrast CT definitely wasn’t on my bingo card for tonight but we got an all clear and the OK to proceed on our trip. Phew!
I hope this gives H the reassurances he needs to stop worrying so much about his health and enjoy the moment.
The brownie has salt in it. I don’t get why people put salt in chocolate.. But the burger is good ![]()
I think it is supposed to enhance the flavor of the chocolate. But I don’t like it either.
Salt on burger= yum
Salt in brownie= no thank you
Yesterday’s 1yo fiesta was amazing, but the little margarita I had was too strong and I felt sick all afternoon/evening, going to bed at 7:30! I am kind of sad that I can’t drink like I used to, even though I rarely drink. Maybe I’ll post that in the signs I am getting older post!
I got up at 10 p.m. and watched SNL and wished I had Alka-Seltzer. Instead I downed a Diet Coke so that I could burp and then went back to sleep before the caffeine kicked in.
I sound like a mess, don’t I? Guilty as charged.
Regardless, Happy Mother’s Day to those who celebrate! Dh is at work so I have had a lovely morning home alone. I love alone time. Lifted some weights, watching baseball and about to eat an early lunch. Awaiting a WNBA game and later the Spurs. GSG!
Today, had a nice late breakfast at nearby dim sum place with S&DIL. We then went to buy odds & ends we needed for trip and then D called and chatted. We are now all set!! Everyone but me is napping and I’m sitting and resting.
We will eventually make our way to the airport to fly off to our 3 week European adventure and have dinner with friends there tomorrow night!
Also called ER and confirmed that because they’re on EPIC, any other provider on EPIC can see the CT imaging with contrast that was performed in ER. Happily, H’s providers are on EPIC, so we can follow up with them when we get home. Sent message to H’s PCP asking about next steps and telling her date we return to Honolulu.
Made myself an omelet with stuff that was in my refrigerator. Nothing else.
Doorbell rang at 10 this morning and surprise! D and grandpuppy made the drive down. Evidently H knew they were coming. Really nice visit, she brought vegan donuts from Just Fine in Alexandria and they were amazing! Some of the best donuts I’ve ever had. H grilled, we had an early dinner and they headed home. Really nice day.
Going to dinner with my younger D and her husband and his mother (she and I live in the same town). They made a late reservation because I went to a two-hour Sound Bath meditation at my yoga studio, which I loved.
Fired up our Greenworks trimmer and battled with blackberries to clear access to the trail, then showered, dressed nicely, and went to late lunch or early dinner at a lakefront restaurant we completely forgot about! Sat on the patio overlooking the lake. There were quite a few families with grandparents using wheelchairs and walkers. Many had bouquets of flowers in their hands. Popular MD celebrations place, apparently!
On the way home we stopped by a hardware store. Now vegging out on the deck.
YAY! Late last night, flew JFK to Helsinki! It’s lovely here and we had a nice visit in NYC with S & DIL.
Just hanging at SEATAC, waiting to fly home after a great five days with son. I’ll miss being with him but glad not to sleep on the inflatable twin bed anymore.
And husband always appreciates me more when I’ve been away
.
Edit to report coffee with bourbon cream is an excellent way to wait for departure (first class due to Delta credits I needed to use).
