I like both @Marilyn and don’t think you can go wrong either way, but I might opt for darker especially if you expect fading.
The crew completed painting our house yesterday. Our doors and trim are in a similar color palette, maybe just a bit more blue in the undertone than the green in yours:
If we are voting I vote for darker or I might say the one that is brighter rather than “dull” - brighter doesn’t mean BRIGHT. But a depth of color that makes it pop sidewalk or street wise and not just blend in.
I have an obsession with doors. I personally think that a good door and a good color can make or break the curb appeal.
I, too, prefer the pop of contrast for curb appeal and would almost always choose a more saturated color. Our previous house had a deep red front door, and our white Boston-area house had a forest green front door and matching shutters.
I’m not a particular fan of yellow, orange, or red, and love blues and greens. Husband is not a fan of change! I could see going with an ocean type of blue, but it would take a while to get used to. I am happy keeping the door subtle. It’s not really as hidden as it looks in this year or so old street view. I do have to keep trimming the trees; I would love to get rid of the ones in front of the kitchen window. And I keep trimming the one across the path. But Mr. No Change won’t let me take them out.
Tonight was our dress rehearsal for our concerts this weekend. I sing in a 150 voice women’s chorus. We’ve been rehearsing every Monday night since January and now it’s coming to fruition. I love singing in this chorus. I still, after about 40 concerts over 20 years, think to myself, I can’t believe I get to do this.
Woke up in Chicago, I’m here for the weekend. S and I will roam around today, do a lot of walking and find fun things to do! ( he lives there and I grew up a few hours away and have been there a lot…).
Today I’m accompanying DH to another medical appointment (the third this week), this time to the Wound Clinic at the hospital. He has sores on his knees that are just not healing, even after three months, two dermatologists, and several medicated patches. No, he does not have diabetes.
I’ll also go to the gym and walk the dog. And fold laundry. Always laundry.
Working today, and have to work late, until 7pm. Dh and D21 are heading down to the beach this afternoon. We have usually gone a few times by now but due to dh’s travel schedule and our recent trip, we haven’t been down to spring clean! I have to work again tomorrow so will drive down tomorrow night.
A lot of crap has been going on at work and after I returned from my trip, my coworker keeps saying we need to go for a drink so she can fill me in. We both work late tonight so we are going for a bite to eat together after work.
I need to throw some things together/pack tonight also since I will leave directly from work tomorrow.
Working a half day today then going for an eye exam this afternoon. I want to get some new prescription sunglasses. I have 3 pairs, but would like a new pair that are a bit darker tinted for the pool and beach this summer.
Fighting with FedEx AGAIN! They are the absolute worst delivery company we have in our area. We’ve ordered 3 sets of dumbbells from Walmart.com in the last month. They were to be delivered Wednesday. Fine. Wednesday comes, and now it’s on delay. Yesterday we get a double message that it’s delayed and on the truck. The truck comes. One is delivered. The other is missing. And these are 60 pound dumbbells. You’d think if there were 2 together, you’d kind of know they were together? But now online there’s nothing that shows where that 2nd one is. It acknowledges there were 2 items under 1 number, but there’s only a master number for the whole shipment and 1 other number for the one that arrived. Nothing for the missing one.
I do the online chat who gave me a case number, said someone would contact me, and then ended the chat before I had a chance to ask - when and HOW are they to contact me? And then gave me an online survey, lol.
Also note, we tried to buy these in the store, but the store wouldn’t honor the online price, which was 50% lower than the store. I HATE FED EX!!!
I’m sorry you’re having another FedEx hassle. Our FedEx driver is the absolute best!
It is graduation weekend so the town has been busy. The joke among locals is that we become a small town in New Jersey over the weekend given the number of students and their families who hail from that area. We headed to Costco early to get gas, then a quick stop at the grocery and the pet store where we got Sabapup two new toys. Sabadog was very quick to destroy toys but Sabapup treats hers like they’re her babies. I’m having a rest day after hitting the gym yesterday and probably won’t do much else. I have a big stack of new books so I might pick one to get started with.
Yes, he has heart issues. He’s got two cardiologists, a pacemaker/defibrillator, and a plethora of medications.
The nurse and the doc this AM are concerned there’s an infection in the joint that’s causing the surface wound, so he’ll get a CT scan soon to check that out. They were remarkably nice and thorough.
Oh, I’m so relieved that he is getting such good care. My SIL had a heart attack a few years ago and in retrospect it made sense that lack of circulation was a contributor to those unhealed wounds that kept popping up on her feet and legs for many years. She had never had a heart issue before so she felt blindsided by that heart attack as she was really proactive about her care. Learning experience for us all.
Ugh, that’s what my dad has. I forget the medical term for it - poor circulation and he doesn’t have diabetes, either. He was in the hospital literally every other month with another infection until they did the partial leg amputation. Not to scare you, but just be aware. I wish I’d had a little warning. It came out of the blue for my sister and me. Happy ending, though - he has not had any more infections or hospitalizations since the surgery, and he’s glad he had it done.
